Muslim Americans helped Biden win Michigan in 2020. Now, his Israel-Gaza response is throwing their support into question

Arab and Muslim Americans make up a small percentage of the population, but they have outsize influence in battleground states like Michigan, where the rejection of voters like Hammoud — who feel hurt and betrayed by the Biden administration – could cost Biden both the state and reelection.

Michigan has more than 200,000 Muslim American voters — 146,000 of whom turned out to vote in 2020 –— according to an analysis by Emgage, an organization that seeks to build the political power of Muslim Americans. Biden won Michigan — a state that narrowly went to Donald Trump in 2016 — by 155,000 votes.

“That just proves that the Biden administration needs the Muslim vote to win,” said Nada Al-Hanooti, the Michigan executive director of Emgage Action.

The stakes are particularly high in Dearborn, a Detroit suburb where more than half of the population is of Middle Eastern or North African descent.
In nearly a dozen interviews, Democrats there who voted for, campaigned for and donated to Biden’s political campaign say they can’t imagine voting for him now, even if he were to support the community’s primary request: an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

they can light them up all day, still dunno they're going to do more than a mobility kill (i.e. break track) with those RPG's vs. a modern MBT, at least not from a ground level shot. need to shoot it in the ass or from the top. or better yet, shoot it with w/e the iranian or russian equivalent to the TOW or dragon or w/e the fuck we're using now.

Call for a ceasefire, with the promise of withholding Israeli aid if they don't. Ceasefire polls strongly in America, it's not an impossible political risk.

Like, I'm not going to sit here and declare prescience, but I distinctly recall urging that the Dems shouldn't just smile and nod Biden toward a second term, but nonetheless should to project solidarity 'n shit. Now with him gleefully supporting Israel in terms of expediency of response and downplaying of ceasefire requests, we have this as a strike against him on top of failed delivery or even rejection of old promises. It's pretty much too late to push an alternative now, not that the party has done anything resembling elevating a future candidate (that isn't a fucking out of touch boomer fossil).

So, as the first of lesser evils aside, the alternative is a guy who is somehow still able to run despite the 14A and seemingly everyone everywhere being too chickenshit to invoke it. Trump's response wouldn't be any better, but in his case, it'd more or less be acts of idiocy leading to bad things. It's the deliberate nature of Biden and supporters' choices that's really sucking the wind out of support beyond those within the specific ethnic/theistic circles. Glacial inefficacy of incrementalism in the moment in mind, there's simply zero hope that a year and change from now we could have a fix that isn't just moar war. Instead, it's just more staying the course. $14B that could go toward helping people here and now in the US is instead being pushed to blow up civilians, all because our political big brains wanna reverse-Spock the situation. There's no moral high ground like with the Ukraine situation.

engine on the merkava is in the front and armored as hell, so you're not getting an effective ass shot on them. they also have a really good active defense system in place, that's proven under fire against anti-tank missiles.

however, it looks like hamas managed to nail 15 of them day 1 of the invasion due to simply overwhelming the TROPHY system via mass RPG fire or firing from very close range (under 50 yards). points for balls and ingenuity.

a good friend an i could be getting rich right now if we'd had a more advanced skillset when we first floated a drone concept specifically for tunnel clearing back in 2010, but that was a very unrealized idea.

By not voting for the democratic nominee, you are handing margin to republicans.

That being said if we're talking about which bloc of voters is more reliable... Jews by far have a more consistent get out the vote operation and tend to punch (vote) way above their weight class (population size)
