The US is only dissatisfied on background, but a large fraction of the rest of the world has issued some shade of condemnation for Israel's actions in Gaza at this point for this round (re: thread title).

Gaza is basically an open air prison. The most confusing part of the article to me is the revelation that some places in Gaza are considered more of an urban refugee camp than others.

there are half a dozen great nations supporting israel with some form of military might as we speak... the states have 3 full naval fleets hanging around to make sure none of the surrounding neighbors fuck around with israel while they wage their war. canada has had their most elite special forces unit, the JTF2, on the ground in gaza since this all began. england is in the same boat. etc

the great nations are not only not against what israel is doing. they are literally giving military, not humanitarian, actual military aid towards it

So I've been reading a lot of Geopolitical shit recently and it's one of those things that's just hella complicated because the wrong move could literally spark WWIII.

The U.S and Europe are only going to look out for white led nations. Some of y'all are gonna get mad at that statement but it's true. Coupled with the fact that all the Euro led nations have been having a lot of anti-immigration sentiments lately, they'd be making it worse for themselves by volunteering to bring in more refugees.

Middle Eastern nations really cannot afford to take in more refugees when they're barely getting by with their own local political issues.

The Saudis are gonna do what makes them money so they probably could careless one way or the other as long as war doesn't spark out.

Iran isn't really looking to go to war but they're also not going to sit down and let Israel do whatever the hell they want either. Colonizing nations don't typically stop colonizing until they're forced to. Israel knows that although they could take out Iran, Iran would fuck them up pretty badly before they got wiped out. Netanyahu is already probably fucked as soon as this ends so he's probably not looking to make it worse.

Even with the best case scenario, there's probably going to be very little good that comes out of this situation as it is going to radicalize our generation and Gen Z pretty good at the amount of injustice happening in multiple fronts.

It's a pretty interesting time right now but also incredibly scary because the world is not really going towards a positive direction.

It's also worth noting that as bad as it sounds, Palestinian refugees are looked at worse then refugees from other countries because of all the problems they've caused in the past whenever a country took in large numbers of them. That was largely while Arafat was in charge but I'd assume most countries still view them in the same light.

Well yeah, there's a lot of financial concerns if something happened to either of those countries.

damn that's crazy the US has self-interest in its foreign policy

but no neither the US nor Europe only look out for white-led nations (and Israelis are only kinda conditionally white anyways). it's def a difficulty +/- modifier but as Archi said many of our closest allies are East Asian at this point, and we have swathes of allies we enable/protect throughout the Middle East. Canada (mostly white) and Mexico (mostly not-white) are unique in the interest we take in them, if anyone ever even stepped on their toes we would bring the fuckin pain.

Korean War, First Gulf War, Vietnam War in a twisted anti-communist sense, a lot of our foreign interventions come from protecting non-white nations from aggression (rarely for their own sake ofc but rather geopolitical interest).

Pallies are fucked because they're poor (-1), brown (-1), and Muslim (-1) and Zionism has always had disproportionate influence in American politics as we rock the largest amount of Jews in the world + tens of millions of our evangelicals are fuckin dipshit weirdos about Jerusalem and the Last Days.

Europe cares about them considerably more and has been far more hostile to Israeli policies than we have historically but there is only so much they ever do, and as alluded to their domestic politics are getting fuckin rocked by the refugees they've already taken in.

I would argue that Europe cares about them "more" largely as a result of several decades more of immigration and integration of the Muslim community into the UK/France/Germany/etc than the US has had. Sometimes I wonder what Muslim sentiment would be here if 9/11 hadn't happened. Don't think it would be quite as welcomed as the EU, but certainly a lot closer.

Israel also only exists as a state due to the Brits being rock hard at the idea of recreating Christendom in the region in the early-mid 1900s. It's obviously more complex than that, but in the end it is what it boils down to.
