Some missiles making contact supposedly. Twitter celebrates.
The catch? Iron Dome isn't intercepting because they are falling in occupied Gaza.
Oh cool I just got back from a day trip
Is this one of those events where nothing actually happens but people pretend that this time surely is the one that sets everything off
Sounds like it

There is concern among top U.S. officials that Israel could do something quickly in response to Iran’s attacks without thinking through potential fallout afterward, according to a senior administration official and a senior defense official.
Those concerns stem in part from the administration’s views of the approach Israel has taken to its war against Hamas, as well as the attack in Damascus.
President Joe Biden has privately expressed concern that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to drag the U.S. more deeply into a broader conflict, according to three people familiar with his comments.

So starting WWIII seems to be the hard red line.
I will believe it when I see it on that one. Maga turds don't give a fuck about Iran but hating Iran is still part of the Republican identity so it would become a wedge issue in an election year. I find it hard to believe that Biden would be willing to take the hit.
MAGAtards saying war would never have happened under Trump, but the scenario in which Trump would have prevented war shifts depending on what nebulous virtue they want to instill in the Cheeto. Trump is stronger so they never would have dared with him in office, the attack was due to Biden being incompetent somehow, Trump could negotiate a deal, etc.
I definitely think Biden needs to keep align broadly with Israel and against Iran, but I don't think the specific element of US troops on the ground helps Biden with anyone gettable or prevents defection by anyone.

The only way I see it benefiting Biden or being popular in the US is if the curtain was truly, fully pulled all the way back and it was plainly obvious to even the dumbest person that it's a proxy war with Russia. Again.
It would be massively unpopular among the vast majority of Americans to send US troops back to the region, even for Israel. There would need to be a direct and obvious threat solely on the US itself.
Ah fuck
Why the hell must the middle east be the multi thousand year dumpster fire that keeps on giving
consistency is the key to success
I didn't think Israel was stupid enough to take this any further. I guess I was wrong.
