I typically show up at someone's house i'm having an argument with and kick down all their doors and break their windows, just so they know that at any time I could get in that house and get them. You know, like a rationale human.

Killing the Iranian general was. Iran committed to retaliation to try show Israel couldn't do what it wanted, and the US probably got Israel to keep the response strike low so that Iran could ignore it. Poking Iran's eye was about showing they could hit in their territory, which is what Israel wants to show because the doctrine of the Sampson protocol is that they will go nuclear first.

Doesn't matter if Israel is in the wrong, the question is how to control them. The U.S. abstaining from the UNSC vote which allowed the UN to demand a ceasefire resulted in Israel icing us out of discussions regarding Rafah.
