I'm actually looking forward to being able to dump a full day worth of stamina into gil. Down to 400k after dumping 300K into maxing Curaga's rank, but 12 uses are nice.

I did but it wasn't on when it went off. I wish shit like Magic Break and Magic shield had markers for when they are on.

Soo, had a few fights with bad luck, restarted everytime. This time he should've been coming up on 50% and I interrupted him. What are the chances that he won't switch to focused stance? >.>

Edit: Goddamnit, he came out of paralyzed and one shotted my healer with Flare -_-

Really need a goddamn notification for when Magic break wears. Although I don't think I have that or intimidate honed nearly enough for this.

Can you obtain a Memory Cystal when you're not 50 and use it later? Or you need 50 to even get it?

Some memory crystals are from story missions, mostly (if not all) elites - these include a lot of story characters: Cloud, Tyro, core classes, etc.

Other memory crystals are awards from limited time events. Some of these are repeats from story characters (like Cloud and Snow will get memory crystals from events, even though you can also obtain them through the story - although the event is usually a lot easier than doing the elite,) while the other characters are only available in that event. (Don't worry - they'll come around again eventually, but it may be a while.)

A memory crystal is an item. Once you reach level 50, you can use that item to unlock record materia, and raise the cap to 65.

When you unlock record materia, you unlock the materia equipment slot for that character, and you also get their first record materia. You can get their second record materia right away, by completing some kind of condition. (Varies from complete elite quest x with y happening, likely the character not dying, randomly awarded after fights in their realm, etc.)

Currently, only Cloud and Squall have a 2nd memory crystal in JP (raises cap to 80). I'm not sure about Squall, but it looks like to obtain Cloud's 3rd record materia, you need to be 65 and have used the crystal, as well as having learned his 2nd record materia. So it looks like eventually, you will need to level your characters up to 65 to obtain their 3rd materia, but that is quite a ways off. For now, just know you can get the first two just by having them at 50 and raising their cap.

The format for recent events has been:

Classics - unlock characters, starting out with repeat characters (if you unlock a repeat character you get a 4 star growth egg instead), and the new character(s) last, ending around difficulty lv30~35. The elite version starts around 40, memory crystal for repeat characters is usually around 45~55, and the memory crystal for the new character is usually a lot tougher, around 60-70. Difficulty ramps up pretty quickly, and the last few "EX" challenge fights (I think these may come a few days after the event starts?) are 100+. In the current event, Squall's memory crystal 2 is a level 110 fight. Lol not getting that any time soon...

These events also throw more 3/4 star growth eggs at you than you know what to do with them.

Not everyone has a RMII tho, as an exemple if you look at the reddit post i linked, Kain doesn't have a RMII

Also RMII doesn't raise the level cap only I (and III but only cloud and squall got RMIII in jpland)

You cannot get a character RMII if he doesn't have his RM1. Exemple you can access WHM RMII before his RM1, but if you do Burmecia elite before he gets his RM1 you won't get the RM2. So unless you wanna do burmecia elite twice, get his RM1 before

Didn't even want to bother with Airship Elite so I jumped to Floating Continent. Felt like I didn't even make a dent in Ultima Weapon. I have a feeling I'm not finishing this event even though I've got tons of synergy bonus gear, I just can't seem to upgrade my abilities enough to do shit. :/

Same here x.x I think I don't have enough honed Magic/power break and Intimidate. Ultima randomly one shots my people even with synergy gear.

Record materia =/=memory crystal.

Memory Crystal 1 - Unlocks Record Materia equipment slot, unlocks Record Materia 1, raises level cap to 65.

Memory Crystals are items you use on your characters once they hit level 50.

Memory Crystal 2 - Raises level cap to 80. THAT'S IT. Supposedly is also a requirement for RM3, along with obtaining RM2, but I can't say that with 100% certainty.

And in terms of record materia:

Record Materia 1 - Unlocks when you use the memory crystal.

Record Materia 2 - Unlocks after you accomplish some task. This varies from doing specific battles with some condition, doing multiple battles in a specific realm, etc. Obviously you have to have record materia unlocked to be able to obtain this... why would you even suggest I was saying otherwise?

And no one here really needs to worry about RM3 for a long time.
