The JP version has better rates? Are they going to adjust ours ever? I'm kind of a new player still and wondering if I should be hoarding mythrial.

Wait for good banners to pull. Right now, the FF4 banner is pretty lame when compared to things like Yuna's or Sahz/Lightning inbound.

Why does everyone have a hard-on for Yuna's SB? AoE is nice and all, but it's Holy element so there are not going to be many times when you'll hit a weakness.

Cleared boss rush without mythril. I use vit0 tho so judge me I guess. The first boss can be pretty tricky to master since he counters everything with Thunder. But if u have Carbuncle it will cut your damage taken almost completely (and speed up the boss fight ever so slightly). For this fight I also brought Ifrit/Phoenix for the fire dmg (and to kill the zombies), Dia for holy, and spammed Curaga on the boss.

You probably don't have as much of a luxury with your ability slots if ure using a normal strat i guess.

Curaga on boss also counts as Holy damage. Saves you an ability slot.

Though, yeah, that's part of my problem. I don't vit0 simply because I expect it to be gone eventually and don't want to be left wondering how to handle longer fights. Still kinda hoping they eventually let us have a 3rd ability slot or even second materia on 65+ chars or something. Strategies just feel a bit too limiting at present. Doubly so if you don't have some special event char/item.

JP version has a 12% base rate, as opposed to the 10% we have, and (allegedly, I have no source on this, I've heard people mention it, but have found no reliable source,) increases the drop rate for every non-5star item you roll.

My experience seems to back it up, as I've gotten easily over 30 relics with an average of a 25~35% drop rate. (One every 2-4 pulls)

Also, that is all pulling one at a time. The two 11 pulls I did were both only 1 5 star. I have a feeling that above effect doesn't apply to 11 pulls.

The above is all probably a mixture of bias and jp button, so take it for what it is.

As a new player, you should definitely be doing pulls, as you'll benefit from the 3/4 star items as well. I would, however, hold off until there's a banner with a character you like.
