It seems pretty bad. I was lucky enough to get one on my first run through. I have run it again about 20+ times and only gotten one more to drop.

Four hours later of farming just the boss stage, I finally get my third black cowl. Now to upgrade my initial black cowl to a 5 star ++ item.

Woot weapon material is ffvi and I have my gravity rod + 2x maneater + stonewall all ffvi weapons

Since the next dungeon starts later tonight, here are some items you should upgrade/combine/farm:

Whip (2* MAG weapon) - With Record Sync, at 15/15 4*, this will out damage a maxed Light Rod on Rydia. It may also outdo it at 10/10(15), but I can't personally check that. Farmed from Fabul Castle.

Mithril Armor/Helm/Shield (2* Armors) - Can be farmed from bosses in Abandoned Mineshaft, Underground Waterway, and Mist Cave respectively. Suggested to use S/L if you farm bosses as it'll take significantly less Stamina and thus time.

Black Cowl - As stated in some post I made above, is one of the best mage pieces and certainly the best farmable one. Add that it is also a IV equipment piece it'll gain an even larger bonus. Suggested you upgrade to 5* whether for this event or for later.

Kunai - Probably had a million of these at one point and sold them off. Combine them into a few Kunai++ (3*) and equip on your melee. With Record Sync it provides +75 attack at max level 3*. This is higher than either of my 4* 15/15 axes and should not be overlooked. Can be found in Antlion's Den, Mt. Hobbs, South Figaro Cave, and North Mines.

Other items you may want: Staff (for healers) found in Mako Reactor 1 & 5 or Rod (for mages) found in Mako Reactor 1. I'm not going to waste the time with the staff for healer, personally, I'll just continue to use Light Staff when necessary.

Yeah considering I'm nearing lvl 30 on people, I don't think I'm gonna bother farming lol

I already have most of it, but it was more about a guideline for equipment people can use.

Though the boss drops are kind of a pain to get; none of it is dependent on Mythril pulls. If anyone new uses the thread for reference for the event I thought it would be helpful.

For some reason I was only tackling FF4 elite dungeons thinking everything would be in order and the other games would be harder... NOPE.

Time to cash in on a bunch of mythril by doing some of the other easier ones.

Early on, not really, as your pulls can make a massive difference in your party's ability. Once you've started to fill out your gear it's a more attractive option.

No because you really rely on your early mythril pulls to gear up your party. Could be later on in the game.

It depends on when you can get the 50 mythril, and if you feel stuck while saving them. It is one free pull, but you're ultimately paying that with the opportunity cost of not being able to do some of the harder dungeons while you're using combined 1* and 2* gear. I think some people who started on release already got their 50, though, so it'd take 1-2 weeks depending on how much you play.

If you're not in a rush and don't mind a slow start, I'd say save for it. The one free pull is only $3 either way, so it's not a big deal.

I need Gil Power orbs and Event but i can't do all 3!!!!

I might just farm Orbs and gil tomorrow and continue the event on thursday instead

Tuesday and Friday will probably be my default "run events and elite dungeons" day, since upgrading gear seems to be fairly easy. Power Orbs and Non-Elemental Orbs are definitely the bottleneck when it comes to abilities, though.

Slow going but I finally got to the last level of shinra tower. I haven't been able to get silence for the pet but I do have blind which I heard works for rufus.

Just need some stamina now to give the fights a shot.
