Edea just has too much HP. Tried a bunch of different setups and the damage just isn't there for me. Can't kill her before the second sentinel grimoire falls off and by then I start running out of abilities.

I suppose that's what I get for never pulling during a ff8 event. The only synergy gear I have is that rod we got with this event.

Exactly the same situation. I went in balls to the walls but just run out of steam. :/

If you have any gear that give shell SB it can help

What I did for mine was alot like Diomer

Selphie lv 52 diaga R5/Curaga R5 (morning star)
Cloud lv 65 Armor + Magic break R3 (Galbadian Sword + Minotaur armor (Shell SB)
Squall Lv 65 : Thundara Strike R5 + Mental Break R4 (Zantetsuken + Rajin's armor)
Vivi Lv 65 : Thundaga R4 + Waterja R3(or4) Had um Emperial staff (forgot the name it's the XII one) and Black Cowl
Quistis Lv 53 : Firaga R4 + Blizzaga R5 (Flail + some armor)

Selphie Poped RW asap (the diaga till curaga or RW was needed)
Cloud did Magic break then armor break (switched each turn)
Squall did Mental break then 2x Lightning Strike
Vivi did Waterja till done then Thundaga
Quistis did w/e spell my finger was closest too

When my 2 RW were done I used cloud to AOE shell

Lost 3 medals but w/e I mastered

Going to do my best to approximate this. Even with Armor break my Squall was only doing like 2.5k damage and that was with a realm bonus sword. I was like WAT

It's amazing for someone like Wakka, who you'd want to slap two breakdowns on but can still have double attack when attacking. It's not quite as strong, but it's always worth having on at least one of your chars, since it clears up an ability slot

If you're clearing everything without, then probably not. That said, I've never not had it on since I've gotten it

thank god if this is the case...
all my VI characters are 50 only (i think only Cyan can break cap but havent got down to clearing Falcon EX).. whereas I have quite a bit of lead on VII characters in the mid 50s to a 60.

Considering they nerfed vit0 and you actually need to have some gear/abilities in check I've started checking ahead to see what i'd need to have prepared for the EX++ fight.. which by the way is super fun. I love these.

Edea was fun but i had to use superboost Retaliate + armor breakdown to get her down.. and needed to refresh Advance cos her HP total was so high.. i did about 25 hits of around 8.5k dmg to kill her.. so I'd guesstimate 220k HP. I hope they roll out HP bar soon cos that would totally help with such drawn out fights.
If you're using reta you're safe putting everyone else in the back row and just having Magic Breakdown. I also love how well Reta works cos she doesn't attack nearly as often because of it.

The next event is actually the Lightning event. My friend's mom's ex-boyfriend from highschool's brother's wife works at DENA and said so, and my mom's psychic's daughter's crystal ball also said the same thing.

Until they announce it, we wont know. Also don't really think there's a way to mine that information but who knows. Edgar is supposed to be next, but they've reordered events in the past.

Kind of annoying that the only character whose MC we have for ff6 is cyan. can't really use anybody for the event.

Finished the Yuna and Quistis/Selphie events on normal. When do you start to get books for Tyro? He is overall a liability and just really difficult for me to gear him well. Weapon drops overall are tough. Do you just spend the mythril and pray or combine junk weapons up?

You won't get any book unless for a special relic pull

I copied most of Diomer's strat, worked fine

That didn't work out so well for me. Pretty much same levels as you except my Vivi is 53. Cloud/Squall were doing between 2500-3500 with the realm bonus lightning sword and another 5* and Quistis was doing about 3k per spell while Vivi did 4k and Selphie dropping 2.5k Diara. Used sent grim for RW but didn't have any way to shell after they wore off and got wiped pretty quickly. :/
