I've had this happen to me before too. Clearing the Google Play Services' data seemed to help clear it up. You should easily find some guides online if you want a better workflow on how to do it.

Banners 39 and 40 are still quite good, and 41 isn't bad at all. My only reservation on 41 is Edward's harp, but even so, you have a great spread of weapon types across the popular realms.

At a glance, here's what's available in those three banners. Probably missed a few items:

• 2x spellblader swords (Squall and Lightning)
• 1x Tidus' sword (6x 0.85x single-target)
• 3x guns (great for back row Lightning/Sazh/Balthier/Irvine)
• 2x rod for Vivi and Garnet
• 1x generic rod
• 1x Tifa's glove (3x 1.7x single-target)
• 1x Edward's Harp (Protectga + Regen)
• 1x Furion's axe (5x 1.1x single-target)
• 1x katana
• 1x spear (with Slow effect)
• 1x dagger
• 2x hat / robe
• 1x light armor
• 1x shield (shields suck, but Protectga is great)

The top three relics are in those three banners, and while there's no guarantee that you'll get any of them, you'll have much better chances there than in the single event banners.

A case can be made for banner 38 as well, but it's very armor-focused, and I'd take a 5* weapon over a 5* armor any day. And whips are very limited in applications. The only good things from that banner are 1) Yuna's rod, 2) Cloud's Hard Edge, 3) bracer with Shellga.

I was thinking of giving some reviews/personal opinions on incoming banners based on my jp experience, but I got lazy. If people want me to I'll do it though.

tl;dr on Lightning banner:

Lightning - Good weapon, 13 synergy sword, decent SB. (x1.7, 3 hits, random targets, ranged). Best part is that the SB isn't replaced by the SSB (like 5-6 months away... but still nice to know it wont become obsolete! SSB is lightning elemental, so if you fight stuff that absorbs/resists it, you'll want this to fall back on) Definite a must-have if you like/want to use Lightning. If not, it's still a good 13 synergy sword. And you wont be getting any other 13 character-swords for a long time, if ever. (SSB is gun)

Sazh - Also a good weapon, gun is useful on anyone who can use guns. Sazh makes for a good support. 3 black and 3 white lets you equip a ton of useful status effects. Also, water of strength is slightly stronger than boost, if you're into that. (60% vs 50%) The question though - Bring Sazh, or use Sazh RW?
IMO: If you have Tyro's sentinel grimoire, and actually plan on using him, Sazh becomes a lot less useful as a character. Two supports is a bit too heavy. Tyro SG + Sazh or Red RW + protectga/shellga (depending on which you RW) is the best damage mitigation that I've found, and Tyro as a character is infinitely more useful than Sazh. >_>
If not, then Sazh is a very solid support, and this gun is a must if you want to use him.

Now the other question - Roll now or wait?

Both of these weapons will be available in about a month in the next soulbreak celebration. (+/- possibly as much as a month, if they decide to switch stuff around)

Lightning's banner comes with Sentinel Grimoire (!!!!!!!!!) and Garnet's Ramuh staff and Firion's axe (Meh.)
Sazh's banner comes with Squall's sword (meh, unless you still need an FF8 sword, then good), Tifa's gloves (not terrible I guess) and Edward's harp (meh)

In about 2~2.5 months, we'll have the Hope event, which also brings back both these weapons.

Banner 1 is Hope's boomerang (Awesome!), Vanille's 2nd staff (Curaga+protect, awesome!!!), Lightning's sword, and Snow's coat. (single target ice attack, meh)
Banner 2 is Snow's fist (I've never seen this in action, supposedly it's a 2 hit aoe, with cancel action, doesn't sound that terrible, but idk. I don't like Snow anyway ), Sazh's gun, Vanille's Deprotectga staff, and Lightning's sword... again.

Both weapons will likely show up again in the next next soulbreak celebration. (~4 months) Can't really predict what the banners will be since they change those around so much, but in JP Sazh's gun came with Rinoa's SSB weapon (super-mega-ultra amazing). Don't remember which one had Lightning, or if it was there at all. (I think it was)

edit2: OH, ALMOST FORGOT. Increased drop rates. I'm pretty sure the SB celebration will have increased drop rates (12% + increased rate for every consecutive failed pull, huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge difference), and the Hope event will for sure. Waiting a month is a good idea.

Did two single pulls (fuck why did I start doing this, what a waste of mythril) - got Sazh's gun. Eh. Guess I'll stop here. Lightning's sword shows up in so many places, I'm ok with this for now.

Been lazy on Tifa's event, so I'll egg up Lightning and range spellblade ftw :D
