Abyss actually isn't that bad. I just beat the crushdown one on my JP account (I don't really have great magic stuff so doing the other 2 is a bit of a stretch for my JP account atm), but crushdown was pretty easy once I stopped being over aggressive. I'd say there's a lot of misfortune fights that are considerably worse than anything in the abyss. Here's what you want to be able to handle any Misfortune fight in terms of SBs (keep in mind you can use one of these as a RW so you just need to pull certain ones: SG or SS2 / Haste / AoE Cure or at least Heavy Regen. You may need an attack boost from somewhere (preferably an SB like Ramza's Scream) as well *if* you don't have any natural 5* RS weapons for that realm, otherwise you can probably skate by. There's some fights where you can S/L a ton of times waiting for the ideal scenario if you lack 2/3 of these SBs, but it's painful. I spent ~6hs on and off S/Ling Vincent's Misfortune fight against Rufus + Dark Nation until I finally got him to stop using Mako Cannon back-to-back-to-back. Mako Cannon did something like 3k to everyone with Power Breakdown/Protect on and SG only knocks it down to 1200~1500 without FF7 5* RS armor and he *loves* to spam it once he starts using it. Fights like those will be extremely difficult if you can't pick up at least 2 of those 3 SB types along the way (and preferably an AoE attack boosting one.)

Sidenote: The individual magic stat being higher on Vivi's 2nd weapon is really of little consequence if you have other FFIX natural 5* staffs. Certain SBs and natural 5* RS synergy are basically the only reasons to pull.

100 gem gave me a 3* VI armor I got for like the 7th time.

50 pull gave me 5* Golden Armor (XII), 5* Coral Sword (IX), and... two of Vivi's Oak Staff!

Yep, not going to. My highest non-synergy MAG weapon was "Thyrus" at 100, lol. This was an excellent pull for me MAG-wise.

I needed plenty of MAG stuff so I went with the first banner. Oak Staff (got 2 awww yisss) and Hypnocrown are the top items that will help me with my mage meta. Having Butterfly Sword in the mix was also a huge motivation.

Which IX banner is better? I've been squandering all my mythril on the squall ssb and nothing. I have like no RS items for VIII or IX. I kinda don't want to pull from this one and get amarant since I already have vega 42

Do you have any AoE heal SB? Need mage weapons? Banner #2 is for you then. If you have both then save for SSB.
