There is really no point in grinding these events out so much, especially the last few items. A lot of this stuff will be obtainable in the future in larger, easier to get quantities.

I also noticed, all the story images for 4 use the snes graphics, the na one uses the ds remake... Wish they had kept it like the jp version :/

Seems to be a big change about FFXIII character coming in JPland

1) Hope is added
2) Hope + Vanille get heir Memory Crystal
3) Vanille gets access to Summon magic
4) Snow attack is raised
Special quests involved Sazh and Lightning

You get lightning and sazh from setting quest and clearing two different 13 missions on normal. (the other quest characters have required elite, dunno if true for all of them)

Hope event doesn't start until 2am est tonight.

Dunno if I'll bother doing it until golden week event is over, it's just so good...

Also, there's apparently some hints on the game files about blue magic coming out soon. Strago was just released, although he can't do much yet, and looks like Quina may be coming soon as well. Also supposedly already blue orbs in the game, they're just unused.

In JP you can "learn" soul breaks by using the weapon tied to them. Then you can use them even when you don't have the weapon equipped.

FF8 is relatively much more popular than Ff5 in the west so that's probably why they pushed this forward. I think we can expect Lightning to come sooner too
