I don't do retaliate. I could've probably revived them if it doesn't take away my medals. I'll retry tomorrow.

You use Draw Fire+Retaliate to stop all incoming physical damage from the boss+the dog. He can still AoE so you need physical mitigation but the retaliate strikes will help with DPS.
And that's it, you don't have to smack your retaliator. Just bring Black Mages for nukes, a healer with Curaga/Diaga and a support for mitigation+LH. Also equip Lulu with Hope's scarf and Wakka with Safety Bit just in case.

No, actually it's a much wider held opinion about this upcoming festival especially on reddit. We're moving towards a time when each NORMAL banner will have 2 SSBs on them. The upcoming festival isn't the time to chase SSBs; it is however a good time to pick up the SBs from those 3 categories.

I would just focus on the main story, events and save until end of month
Go through all the realm/story missions to build up ur stamina, the bosses should all be easy with all the lvl65 summon rw u can get. U can probably clear the first part of events with a level 20-30'pty to unlock new characters
Hoard your mythril till the ssb fest this month
I would hold on to orbs and gil too, depending on what relics u get you will want to build ur pty around that and you won't have many orbs yet. So see what character u will use before you go ability crazy
Double cut, boost and retaliate will hold u over a long time work on those first

Have started using Leon full time for SB. Really liking it. 30% ATT and DEF aoe is super nice. Was cranking out 16k tempo flurries against elites with Vaan.

Will Medica 2 remove Petrify?

I don't see why it wouldn't, but if you're thinking about it for Leviathan, his petrify is both rare enough, yet annoying enough to hit when you don't want it to. Which mean's he'll always petrify your healer when you need her most.

Was kinda the crux for a lot of my restarts. Got to sub-10%, then boom, petrified.

Draw Fire+ petrify resistance accessory if you don't wanna Retaliate.

Yeah I don't retaliate. Was toying around with possible setups and I think I've landed on this, but not totally sure.



Medica 2 for rare petrify.
Combo of faith/attunement/RS gear should have thundaga/thundaja both hitting for 9k each minimum. Assume 7 turns worth (14 uses = 126k damage)
Refia with HoTE + MA + Punishing Palm + RS + ATT20% RM should be hitting 11-12k per Tempo Flurry from spreadsheet. Assume 7 uses + 2 PP (95k damage)
Leon will do Armor Breaks + Pound will be Venom Buster, idk why Pound is there. Probably only contributing 20-30k damage without counting for poison. (20-30k damage)
Rinoa Angelwing Bolt should do ~13k. Closer to 15k if I decided to use Attunement 2 instead of MS2 for trash.

So looking like 9 turns to kill. Assuming I keep Magic BD up and use SS2 and drop reflect on him from the start I should be okay?

You're probably still going to want a source of shell. Even with BD and SG, his Blizzards could hit for 800-900. When he starts spamming Tsunami, could be like 250-450 per, too. Individually, that might not sound like much, but if focuses on someone, it adds up. Additionally, he was listed as Slow immune and once he Hastes himself, if he manages to, he'll attack hella quick. Even without Haste up he's unusually fast. Since he resists ice, his reflected blizzards probably won't do much more than 1.5k.

I kinda feel like getting to him will be your biggest difficulty with only 4 hones on magic lure. The nukes he mobs lob can easily hit 3.5k+ while I think the basic ones have at least 6.5k HP, possibly not enough for your Ruingas. If fortune smiles, you'll see more of the large harpy-types than the 2 that can nuke.

While I don't think you'll 9-round him, you're going in better than I.

The reflect is for him, not for my party. It is so he cant haste or protect himself. But yeah I was wondering about the shell. Sucks because there isn't really a good way to fit it into my party setup.

And yeah he is slow immune I just needed some multi-hit for refia since with all buffs she will be doing ~6k per 1x modifier attack. Wanted something to go > 9999.

May have to SL the trash but I put Thundaja with mana spring 2 on Terra since with RS weapon which gives bonus to lightning damage she should be fine. Planning to use Ruinga, Thundaga (can spare 2-3 uses on trash), and 1 Thundaja per stage. Everything else will need to be melee stuff. If I eat big nukes I'll prob SL.

In about an hour, I'll only have devout and red mage as the only uncapped chars that have access to curaga. I really hate using capped chars for dailies and classic dungeons but I hate using cores even more.

I'm really glad we're getting Mog's MC this week and Lenna's shortly after that.

Yep, just capped FuSoYa and Devout would be my only option lol. Thankfully Mog's getting level broken in a few days.

If you're gunning for a quick fight, then poison's gonna lose some of its efficacy since even getting it to land might not cooperate. Giving Leon the Break will probably roughly equal the damage short of poison landing the first try, I'd think.

Anyway, if you Reflect him, you're obviously going to have to Reflect one of your teammates to nuke him. That'll make the SB heal pivotal when he starts doing Tsunami since you won't be able to ST heal. On the other hand, if you're lucky, he'll just keep trying to buff himself. Seemed 50/50 he'd use a buff if one wasn't up.

You'll get it, though. Trash is just gonna be the bigger pain.
