His BSSB is ridiculous; much better than his SSB. His SSB is okay, but nothing stellar (I have it as well).

His BSSB gives Protectga, Shellga, and 2x Magic Blink. It changes his Attack command to an attack that does Atk/Mag down and his Defend command to an attack that does Def/Res down.

I know about his BSSB, was just saying that I have no problem using him a lot with just his SSB.

I can egg two characters to 50+, and my choices seem to lie between Faris, Spellblade, Ricard, and Cecil (to 65).

Is there any in particular I should focus on in terms of RM or usefulness? Faris seems to be the most obvious choice for one of them.

Ricard's RM is +20% ATK (with sap), and by far the strongest physical RM available for people under the softcap

Rinoa (68); Vanille's Rod, VIII 5* hat, Magic Armlet; R2 Meteor, R4 Firaja; Witch of Succession

Vanille (65); Magistral Rod, Shinra Helm, X Magic Accessory; R3 Blizzaja, R1 Shellga; Impetuous Youth

Vivi (65); Thunder Rod (5*), XIII Witchcraft hat, another 20 MAG accessory; R4 Thundaja, R4 Waterja; Devotion

Lenna (67); Sage's Staff, 5* MND hat, Angel Ring; R5 Curaga, R4 Diaga; Mog's Teachings

Red XIII (65); Ori Dirk++ (5*), Thornlet+ (5*), Omega Badge; R2 Full Break, R3 Mental Breakdown; Mako Might

Lenna and Red had Mako Might/Mog's Teachings. Red put up LH, Vanille put up Shellga, and whoever got ATB filled other than those two put up SS2. Red used Full Break then Mental Breakdown, then attack; repeat to save on FB charges. Mages did what they normally do, nuke when possible with Lenna on SB cure duty after 1-2 AoE depending. Rebuff as you're going to hit halfway mark, but I saved the last Shellga charge for after Dispel.

Used 2x LH, 2x Lenna SB, and 2x SS. On winning run I didn't get Dispelled until the very end so I ended up only using 1 Shellga.

Vivi with Thundaja and the rod was doing 9999 with FB and Mental BD. Rinoa was doing around 7k, and Vanille around 5-6k I believe. Lenna was also hitting 9999 with Diaga, but I had something like 430 MND with RS gear and sync bonus.

If anyone died, I was hoping it would be Vanille.

Carbuncle is useful also if your damage is slightly below par. His reflected nukes could help you push for a Master. Though it's still RNG based unfortunately since he could also AoE 5x in a row.

that's the main reason I went with carbuncle for exdeath, to help cover actions taken for master. I probably would have won anyway without it, but not mastered. (I think, anyway)

idk if I can master yunalesca, I have no good ffx synergy at all. I think I can at least clear it though.

questions while I think about prepping for yunalesca:

holy isn't affected by magic break/downs, correct? but shell reduces damage?

do power breakdown and steal power stack at all?

I'm kind of weary if I can even beat Yunalesca. I already had issues fighting +++ due to lack of X synergy ( which is to say none aside from the stuff given in the events ). Only other thing I have for X is lullaby wand which doesn't do much.

As was pointed out earlier to me, magic break/down doesn't affect holy since it's mnd based and shellga will mitigate, just be aware she can dispel prot/shell/haste with reg attacks. Also power steal won't stack with power breakdown since both are considered same effect.
