Well, they've solidified their defense with other wingers and centerbacks. Pochettino might be inclined to put him at midfield.

Especially considering they just offloaded Erik Lamela.

Or they might loan him out at the last second. Transfer window still open.

They lost to iceland again and then lost to Turkey now 3-0. They are currently in 4th place in the group and the best they can hope for is to be 3rd and go into the playoff to qualify. Iceland, meanwhile, has qualified for their first ever major tournament.
