Even if kept separate, fox has already shown a huge incompetence of handling Marvel movies. Since X-2, the only ones that are any good are the ones Fox stays out of. Deadpool, Logan, First Class all being the most prominent. Everything else has been hot garbage.

When people say it's too late for Fox I think they are simply lamenting that Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKlellan have retired from their franchises. I don't want to see Wolverine in a Marvel movie if it's not Hugh Jackman. At least not for a good long time.

I really hope they don't add mutants into the MCU. Its just too damn much. Let the X-men have their own universe. Throw the Fantastic Four into the MCU though.

Even in the comics X-men are effectively in their own universe a lot of the time. It wouldn't be that bad if they followed that same formula here. Occasional cross overs or some mutants joining other teams etc

I certainly hope so. Not sure how it fits in the MCU timeline but IM3 was 4 years ago so it's pretty damn plausible MCU Tony has figured out how to repurpose extremis for his armor
