With the scene with vision as a human (likely a dream/vision), I think they're going to build up his connection and love for Scarlet, just to have him die at the end as Thanos takes the Mindstone. They want some emotional weight and power to the deaths, and a lot of others are going to pass as well.

I'm not 100% familiar with how infinity gauntlet works but couldn't they shock everyone with killing off bunch of characters and than in part 2 have someone use the gauntlet to bring people back?

In the comics yes but it's hard to say here since everything including what we've seen of the stones so far is way powered down

Well it was basically all undone at the conclusion of the Infinity Gauntlet storyline, so it's not an entirely awful idea to kill a big chunk of the cast, showing everyone the stakes. It forces different heroes to step up (Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, Wasp, etc) for the second movie. Then you bring everyone back at the end to make everyone happy

He was contracted through six movies initially including Infinity War. They presumably fixed everything when they split it into two. Sebastian Stan was contracted through nine but Evans didn't want to sign that far ahead.

verdad. MCU has hitherto been p pathetic in terms of willingness to make constant world-ending danger actually seem dangerous / give anyone of significance a send-off, will be deeply disappointed if they go soft and dragon ball the coming Thanpage away.
