Maelstrom. If I didn't make my own LS, I probably would've switched.

anyone else have any crashing issues?
was just in my 2nd match today, (DOMINATING OMG THIS SHIT IS FUN) but at a certain point literally everything froze, like you're lagging out, but people could still talk. everyone got kicked out afterward.
this shit is ridiculous lol. btw i would never fuckin wanna play a tank or healer EVER

This is pretty much expected when I saw the killstreak stuff in the notes.
Will continue to avoid FL. Since the CS nerf there's no reason to play healer, especially not in this mode.
As someone who hasn't touched PVP since shortly after Frontlines was released (Rank 19? I'm a scrub) what point is there to ever going as a tank? I can't imagine paladin stuns mean enough to curb momentum and even then, that's not WAR damage.
Should I just be flagging on ninja or something?
PLD was fairly decent, against DPS you were unkillable, against WARs it was basically a test to see who baited CDs better. Against healers it's like trying to bash 2 brick walls vs each other.
Doubt there's much point going tanks now though, you don't rake in kills as fast as a true DPS so you'll eventually get overpowered by people who are good at getting kill streaks.
Tanks became a support class, basically. You have the best stuns, they each get an ability that increases damage dealt to a target, and your other abilities are usually self/aoe/targetted buffs.
So if its all about kill streaks and kill achievements are we heading towards all DPS alliances?
I was amazed at how no one ever tried to focus down the SMNs ever. Once you get that killstreak bonus, the damage is so real, sucks I didn't get my 8kill streak till near the end, on top of forgetting my SMN was +30mnd, which I just switched now >_> I'm gonna keep trying my matches as SMN and see how it goes, I tried BRD and NIN earlier and got focused down like crazy, but SMN? Not once, lol. The rate at which the adrenaline gauge fills at 8 kill streak is so insane, lol. LB spam for days.
See, that's what I was thinking. With the killing power you get from streaks, I can't see tanks doing enough to stem a fight. Healers are always going to be vital, sure, but the name of the game becomes bursting down soft targets.
I'll reserve judgement until I get slaughtered later, though. I'm not confidant in my ability as a DPS, and at least paladin is all muscle memory for me. I'll never be gud, but I just want awesome armor.
If you like playing things like semi-carries in dota/league then pld is really good. Timing stuns properly you can hold them down for a good 7 seconds, which is critical in keeping competent healers down. PLD has a close-out ability no other job has. Plus people don't like to target tanks, which is great for people newer to pvp. Dying over and over is no fun.
Stuns are also great for shutting down melees who are chasing your healers, or my favorite, stunning the shit out of people while the nodes are going off. You get them killed cause they can't run from node aoe, or you stop their LB which eats up half their bar. And I definitely wouldn't say pld is behind war in dmg. I mean if they are, it's very close. WAR's my main for pve but i'd way rather play pld in pvp. Too much damn utility and if you wanna go full dps you never get targeted.
Hm. Sounds like I could get into that. Anything specific I should know/look for? Dancing between Sword/Shield oath? Maybe a list of specific i80~ pieces that don't blow with parry/acc?
In short, teach me!
One thing that's already becoming annoying is getting the infinite loading screen when coming out of slaughter sometimes![]()
That's the problem though. Tanks have always been good in pre-mades. Problem is that no one will focus burn down people in pugs, will never follow marks, and will overlap stuns, all of which makes PLD less useful. If you have a good pre-made ( or even 2-3 others that you can count on ) then it's good, otherwise, not so much.
Also, no real reason to go Shield Oath. PLD are extremely hard to kill already plus no one really targets them. If you're baiting, just run in and "if" they attack you, just pop rampart or something.
mmmmm, yeah learning to toggle efficiently is something to work on. mostly you stay in sword but the moment you get targeted hard or you are covering someone, you can drop into shield.
if you want to be a really strong pld, you'll want to be able to snap save someone with cover/stuns/testudo/flash (great on a pack of melee) so watching your party bars becomes important.
unfortunately most of my pld set is pvp (which happens to have best combinations of det/crit), so you'll prob have to do some research for what's accessible for you.
Roger roger. I'll futz with it later. One of the things that stopped me from feeling confident going into Secure was never feeling like I contributed due to useless LB and idiots blowing stuns immediately. One can only back-cap unguarded territories for so long before they get sick of things.
Now I'm kind of looking forward to trying this out.
Having a helluva time playing healer and getting wins over and over. You wanna DPS? Fine. Just make sure you kill the bards so I can never ever ever ever die and make sure you never ever ever die.
have done 13 matches today. i'm really not seeing the appeal or point of going down to get ground adds when they spawn. if you go down and try to get back up, any team overloading top will hammer people as they head up ramp, in addition to all the kills/dmg you lose by running around.
plus, there's an add that spawns top as well.
anyone thinking the same thing or that the side adds are worth it?
