WAR only feels like a slower, beefier melee with a burst that requires prepping up. I've never been killed by a WAR, and if I did, there were many others around him focusing me. Without a gap closer like other melees, they need to blow their TP ability on sprint just to chase others down. If you aren't in the literal face of the enemy, chances are you're just fodder for ranged jobs until they let you close in.
SMN is probably flavor of the month in pvp until they nerf their stuff, if at all.
Hey guys, I afked during 2.28 and just came back in 3.0 I am insterested in the new 3.05 PvP mode and try to make some gears for it. But I have some questions which need your help before starting:
* 1. I see each PvP gear says "Materia effects active during PvP only", but the tutorial of PvP also says "When undertaking a duty utilizing item level sync, the item level of any gear exceeding the maximum item level will be adjusted accordingly. Furthermore, materia bonuses will be ignored during PvP encounters, regardless of the item level of gear affixed with materia." So I am very confused, does materias matter or not? (meanly for front line)
* 2. Morale and lv sync "While in PvP areas, item level increases an amount equivalent to current Morale rating." and current lv sync for lv60 pvp is 150, so my understanding is ilv180 pvp gear's stats will be increased to ilv210 then lv sync back to ilv150 gear's cap. Is this correct? If materias matter too then if I meld a normal ilv150 crafted gear to its stats cap will I be able to get the same result compare to ilv180 PvP gear during Front Line?
* 3. And another example: if I made a NQ ilv160 crafted gear (so its stats is not capped for 160 but higher than the cap of 150), let's say ViT is 70 on that gear and the cap of 150 is 65 and of 160 is 80. When it got lv sync to 150 do I still have 65 ViT on that gear or I will only get 65*(70/80)=57? *Finally do PvP materias still work as before: 1 xxx resist means 1% time of duration reduce during xxx debuff?
* Thank you all!!!
So apparently you can lose points in Seal Rock?
Storm was at ~725/800, Adder and Flame were both around 300. Final score was something like Flame 800, Adder 720, Storm 675.
Deaths lose points, yeah
Deaths are -5. Another reason I love this new game. Its entirely possible to double zerg a winning faction at 750/800, pincer them, and drain them down a solid 150 within a few minutes with proper coordination and extend the match. Its another reason to stop the whiners on your team from QQing about a game being over when turnarounds are entirely possible.
You gain points for killing and for data drain, and at the end of the match, you can see the breakdown between where your 800 points came from and how many points your faction lost via deaths.
SMN is definitely lots more fun in this, just need to get the muscle memory down of where all my shit is and hitting my buttons faster. Also, does kills in this mode counts towards HoM/Slaughterhouse? I can't check since I have HoM already
yes, they do.
ah, that's good then for those still trying to grind out HoM. I feel its much easier to get kills in this mode over slaughter, even as a ranged, melee for sure should have easier time imo as well.
Although I've lost like 7 straight matches atm, I'm having a blast still fucking around as SMN and adjusting
6 tanks in a 24man Seal Rock after a 20 min wait in roulette. Is this dead already or just slow in the mornings?
I've done one game, and it was a 24man after waiting 40 minutes. -insert complaint about GC restriction-
I've said it before and I'll say it again: give Japan about 3 more years to knuckle-drag themselves into the modern era of Mercs in faction-based PVP. When they loosen their grip on "tradition" and start to place player enjoyment over their "vision" for the game, we'll see tangible changes.
it's like the first week and queues have been relatively dead on primal. my hope is that this is how it is for every server and by week 2 nobody's playing this at all. it needs to fall flat on its face for them to realize this gc shit is horseshit.
Still going strong on Aether
tuesday/wednesday it was fast queues for me on aether/maelstrom. haven't touched it since due to work, should hopefully be able to spam a whole mess tomorrow though.
and yeah i find it's generally much, much easier to get kills in this versus slaughter. healing was a lot more concentrated which meant you had to work a lot harder for it (outside of LB stacks of course). people just don't seem to get heals in seize, it's great.
has anyone worked out if there's a point difference for high/fever kills?
when did they change this? I swear I couldnt wear my bodies last week
3.05
oh sweet, thanks
24-mans all day. Thanks Yoshi.
