It is a cap, not a sync down.
Arbitrary example, if I cap at 40 acc/crit at 150. 150 body has 40 crit and 20 acc. 180 body has 60 crit and 30 acc. In sync the 180 would give 40 crit and 30 acc.
180 pvp is in essence 210 in pvp. Meaning virtually guaranteed "best in slot" by the above. However, as mentioned, it's only a handful of one secondary per slot.
Tri into Fester can be very iffy at times, especially due to the fact that you have to wait about half a gcd to fester to that it registers, if you use on someone with quick reactions, more than likely your fester will end up not taking effect. Either way, you should still be able to get it off most of the time. You should consider other burst options that works as effectively incase this happens. SMN burst is kinda situational still, even in pvp IMO. Sometimes you have to just work with 2 Ps 1ED, or 2 EDs/1P.
Wither/A Burst are also solid options for bursting on SMN too if you're having to burst someone in melee range and won't be able to kill them from range.
This is just my opinion, but I strongly advise only saving swiftcast for tri-bind, either to link into LB or on a group/person that's chasing.
SMN has no such skill in pvp![]()
i used to pause for half a sec on my fester but i don't like having to consciously do that everytime. easier to do tri > pain > fester since you are getting some version of the two in anyway in your kill combo.
i also save swift for bind. pretty much everytime i use it for pet i regret it. honestly my pet's out of the match most of the time anyway so w/e.
another thing to note about the swift ruin 3 is that you're lowering the potency by half, which really makes it not worth using on ruin 3 at all as you're better off just using ruin 2 instead
Anyone play Secure or Slaughter at all? I feel like I'm doing lower damage than usual and I was wondering if there was a change in the mechanics I didn't know about.
only obvious things i can think of were that flare and holy got nerfed
Other than them being synced to Lv50, I can't think of anything else.
I can't even get in to a Roulette frontlines; this is just depressing. Not even a month, and PvP is ded again already.
Too bad SE doesn't give a shit about PvP, removing GC restrictions and pooling every datacenter in to one would be huge. PvP still going strong on Primal though, fast queues all day.
I'm wondering if it's just all in my head. I also wasn't wearing any Morale gear either so I'm wondering if that might be affecting (It shouldn't) it but it's not like you can check the gear of the person you're fighting so I can't really get a good analysis of things.
i've probably complained more than anyone else in the history of ffxiv pvp. they either don't care or are incompetent.
I remember examining enemies when secure was the only FL way back. Was a great way to target non-VIT healers for burning down. Unless they changed it, I think you should be able to (I haven't /check anyone since then though).
On that note, maybe enemies are just wearing more VIT in general to buffer their HP pool. It's pretty much standard for healers to avoid 1 shot from melee LB.
You can still check people. And I pretty much run some vit on all my classes, at least 2-3 for non healer. I honestly feel like some ninja nerfs were made to FL, mainly seal rock, but idk, atm, still putting it on not paying enough attention. I noticed at first, melee LB would do around 9.6k consistently, but now it seems to have dropped to around 8.6-9k, that and my akh morns doing less damage than what I remember at first, but idk, like I said, probably me not paying full enough attention to the damage rolling out, but I didn't really notice this till the most recent maint.
I wish they would do away with the GC allegiance BS or at least let you switch without penalty. Adders are so damn useless on my datacentre, across the last 2 weeks my record is 7/32/24 (Edit: Actually 7 wins not 10, just checked my record for last week and it was worse than I thought)
I don't mind the losing so much, it's the matches where you just can't do anything at all because people refuse to stick together or regroup and just carry on steaming in headfirst. Which I'm sure happens in all GC's but it seems to happen in the vast majority of Adders matches. Just had an 8 man match where our cumulative team record was 3 kills, 23 deaths.
Of course then you get weird matches like this
All that damage was on the final nodes too. We didn't deal any damage at all until we were like 400/500 and all 3 nodes in our base so they were forced to come to us. Mael/Flames just went toe to toe and ignored us all game until that point (or more accurately Mael curbstomped Flames)
