Ya, DRGs tend to jump > stun > LB.
Ya, DRGs tend to jump > stun > LB.
DRGs are pretty squishy when isolated so I always team up with a healer and mark them so I don't get too far away. DRGs are powerful in burst so picking your battles with CDs up is essential. I open with Impulse Rush (when its up) then Heavy Thrust, pop BfB and IR, start Chaos Combo (with a stun mixed in), BotD and then 4th combo. The important thing here is Impulse Rush, when you have Enhanced III unlocked it adds a 30% buff to Crits and removes directional requirements. Combined with the HT buff and BotD you can produce some very nice crit numbers. Once you make it to Wheeling Thrust/Fang and Claw (if you get that far) most healers/dps are about dead and you can use a well-timed Spineshatter to finish them off. Don't be afraid to retreat either, the goal is to get to Battle High/Fever, and with a healer following you around you can wreck some shop at that point.
I guess the biggest mistake I see DRGs do is blowing both stuns off the bat and leaving an enemy with <10% health and not being able to finish them off because they are sprinting away and they have no way to stop them.
As far as the LB situation, I always pop Fetter Ward before I Spineshatter in (or Dragonfire+Leg Sweep) to prevent from being stunned or slept while LB animation goes off.
Any good DRG will absolutely rape your ass regardless pretty much, its just majority of drgs/melee atm are all shit, and mainly stun > LB, cause they have no clue how to burst down for the life of them. DRGs have lots, imperial rush, mobility jumps, elusive jump, insane burst, FOUR self healing tools, 2 stun CC, keen flurry, can featherfoot, fetter ward, weapon throw, etc. DRGs have so much shit at their disposal, that its damn near impossible to die unless you get ganged, and even then, a fever DRG can easily 3v1 and come out on top.
So what I'm getting is my goal is pick a target. Get them with Impulse Rush (PvP) -> oGCD B4Band IR -> Heavy Thrust Combo. Now using Impulse Rush will give me an extra 70+50+90 potency on my combo.
Though what I do outside of that for the other 100 seconds I don't have that buff?
Drgs can dominate mages, especially blms who don't aren't perfect with a double sleep or bind setup to gain some distance, but its so much fun when Drgs try to solo my War out there. Hilarity ensues.
Drgs, however, have a shit ton of crits and are very, VERY hard to keep off of you if they adopt a wait-and-see approach to using abilities.
not logged into game to see the skills and i'm about to go to sleep, but the trick to drg kills is to not think of it like you would if you were maximizing PVE dmg.
i.e. lots of OGCD's chained together right before your finisher. you do it fast enough and no healer will be able to react quickly enough.
Always have an escape plan as DRG. Can you 1v1 Lucavi on his WAR? Most cases no, but if you see him limping away at <15% you fucking rape him.
Back on topic, target healers 1st. Always. If you aren't bursting shit down, be annoying. Ring of Thorns around cap points. Pick a random whm to throw spears at. Find that dumbass SMN that keeps Bane'ing his dots onto everyone (they are pussies, they turn bitch and run at the first sight of a melee if they have no aether stacks).
Anything you can do to disrupt the other team, DO IT. When your cooldowns are ready, pick a healer or dps and wail.
Just my 2 cents.![]()
As MNK, Fetter ward > Sprint > Meditate >Wait for him to use jumps > Weapon Throw > Freedom.
Or if he's alone, just wreck his shit.
Probably only been beat by one or two DRGS legitimately and that's after they got buffed and I underestimated how long I could wait until before healing back the majority of my HP.
I got in as healer - One of the few. And AST everytime. WE CANNOT DIE!!! ~
This was hugely satisfying
I managed to kill a Maelstrom with the score at 797-795 when they had an S rank tomelith.
My final match last night, we're at ~730/800, Mael is at ~700, Adders are at ~575. We just finished defending an A-S combo where we had a lot of deaths, and an S pops near Mael.
So of course Adders are base camping us and Mael gets an uncontested S for the win. Adders didn't even get 2nd place out of it, so what's the point?
That happens more than you think, Aether Maelstrom likes to spawn camp Adders during NA prime and the result is them getting their shit pushed in by Flames. Some people pvp just to pvp, not actually coordinate a winning match.
Sometimes you just give up on the game and try to bump your figures too. I mean in that scenario Adders likely aren't getting 1st or 2nd regardless. Whoever they target is probably going to lose with them coming 3rd. And it's a lot easier to keep pushing on the team you're already focusing on / are scattered because of deaths.
Why do the Flames suck so fucking much on Aether? They split up, they're afraid to commit to a large-scale fight and instead retreat, they're just bad in general and die and make stupid decisions. And the best part is that I can't even switch companies to get better queues and/or players because it'd reset my rank to 1. So thanks for that, Yoshi.
Spoiler: show
Seems fine to me.
BTW, I've done <20 of my matches in pre-mades and at least 10 of those were a "pre-made" of two. The largest pre-made I've ever been in was 4. The vast majority of my matches are solo DF.
I have over a 50% win rate too, but the large majority of that's from 2.x; ever sinze Seize came out with 3.05, Flames just doesn't seem to understand how to play anymore and it's constantly loss after loss after loss. They just fucking melt against any kind of opposition.
I don't know that my win rate is over 50% in Seize, but I can say that my most common finish is 1st and I haven't joined any pre-mades. This week was the worst one for me and Flames were almost always still in it.
Just check and see if all the enemy are from the same server.
Adders always lose, but if you notice all 24 were from Faerie.. don't feel bad that they stomped you.
My record pre-HW was 40/30/30. Now it's 58/86/88.
So basically since Seize was released I'm 18/56/58 (13.6% win rate). That's how bad Adders are on my data centre. 2 weeks ago I literally did not win a match (0/12/12). 8 of those wins actually came Sat/Sun this weekend too, prior to that it looked way worse.
On the plus side I don't care, I just aim for kills for the most part as I want the title. Too bad I never played slaughter.
