Marked improvement now that super secret receiver suspensions are over, but Bauta or Ramsey would probably do just as well right now.

TOP25 SEC out of conference wins this year (in rank order for week7):
Auburn : beat #20 KState by 2 FGs, blew out San Jose State and LaTech
Ole Miss : beat unranked Boise State by 3 TD, blew out LaLafayette and Memphis
Miss State : blew out Southern miss and South Alabama, Beat UAB by 13 points at home
Alabama : Beat unranked WVU by 10 at home, blew out Florida Atl and Southern Miss
Georgia : Blowout wins over #16 Clemson and Troy
aTm : Blowouts over unranked Lamar, Rice, and SMU
Missouri : Blowouts over unranked SDSU, Toledo, and UCF, loss to Indiana

While there are a lot of top 25 teams that also don't have "signature" out of conference wins, there is nothing in this list that indicates that every SEC West team should automatically be in the top 5. UGA has that nice-looking win over Clemson, but then they lost to USC. The only other remotely decent-looking win is then-#5 Auburn vs then-#20 Kstate.

Whether ND, Baylor, Michigan State, TCU, Arizona, Oregon, or Oklahoma are better is arguable, but to default to sticking the SEC higher just because pollsters like to suck their collective dicks just annoys me for some reason. I think the SEC is good, and the SEC West is probably the best division, but I think the bias is still amazingly obvious considering they've played nobody but each other yet.

And then you get ESPN commentary like this (paraphrased):
"Well LSU losing big just shows how strong the conference is top-to-bottom" and
"NCState losing big just shows how weak the conference is top-to-bottom"

I only listed it as "remotely looks decent" because it's the only other win against a nonconference ranked team for every SEC team in the top-25.

You don't think they'd get any credit for gutting it out even if they played like garbage on the road against.. a team you say is better than the Klein era Wildcats? (Serious question as you're obviously more up to date on K-State than I am)

I guess I put too much stock into OOC road wins. :< Obviously wish Auburn's offense would have clicked like they did last night, but alas.

a not so decent looking win would be Florida State and NC State IMO.

We have time for it all to open up, though. I don't see Auburn surviving their entire schedule unbeaten. They'll lose one, if not two at some point

And here's a fun one: Miss State went from unranked in week 4 ("ranked" 28th by votes), won @ LSU, jumped to 12, beat aTm, jumped to 3rd. Is that possible in any other conference? Jumping 25 spots in 2 weeks is a huge crock of shit.
