Florida State vs K-State would actually be an amazing game, but god I hope we don't end up with it. I do NOT want to go to a fucking bowl/tourney game around those people.

Guys this convo was about my beloved Spartans let's not talk about the FSU and ND shit pls
I know, I know, Plow. That game and the Utah game will forever be held up as the sigils of every "SEC is overrated" argument. Saban's killing his own conference amirite?! (Seriously though how weird is it that he's 3-0 in NCGs and 0-2 in Sugar Bowls at Bama?)
The thing about those arguments is they're right. The SEC is overrated. But it's still the best and toughest conference, just not by the leaps and bounds that some talking heads think right now.
Before the conferences went nuts poaching each other's teams, I said that most teams would stink it up in the SEC. Then TAMU and Mizzou came in and had immediate success. So I was wrong. Yes, the SEC still gets the benefit of the doubt for their recent run of success in the NCG. But I have no clue how K-State would fare in the SEC West, or how Bama would fare in the Big XII.
Personally I would wager they'd both have almost exactly equal success. Which I guess is pretty much my point.
(except the 9-6 year, no way that team gets through Weeden/Randle OSU, RG3 Baylor, Klein, Tannehill/Swopes's A&M, and C.McCoy pass complete to J.Shipley, with just one extremely close loss that year)
oh, and btw
You might believe Winston is innocent, but you cannot deny that when the police report was shared with FSU police, they turned it over to the university who turned it over to Winston's lawyers before it was presented to a prosecutor, which is completely illegal and served the specific purpose of cheating the system to ensure Winston never faced actual charges (or even questioning of him or the witnesses), which would have forced them to suspend him... allowing them to continue (to this day and beyond) to delay any semblance of addressing the problem until he's done winning games for them.
Or that the FSU police directly corroborated with university officials to discourage reporters investigating and set up an "effective" pr handling.
Or my favorite, that they straight up paid off an apartment complex manager to keep him from pressing charges for blatant destruction of property.
Regardless of how far you're going to keep your head up your ass on the subject of his actual guilt, the fact that he's constantly in the kind of trouble that gets your average 19 year old black kid first on probation and then years in jail for breaking it, and conveniently avoids any punishment whatsoever, is, in fact, blatant cheating.

Florida State University officials and Tallahassee police took steps to both hide, and then hinder, the criminal investigation into a rape allegation against the school's Heisman-trophy winning quarterback Jameis Winston last fall, a FOX Sports investigation has found.
The upshot: University administrators and Winston’s attorney, Tim Jansen, had a head start on the state attorney in Tallahassee responsible for investigating and prosecuting serious crimes. Florida State administrators, for instance, had all the police reports at least four days before State Attorney Willie Meggs was handed the case.
After learning in December of 2013 that no charges would be filed, FOX Sports examined thousands of pages of documents — including law enforcement files, e-mails and other correspondence as well as video and audio interviews conducted by detectives and other records — through a series of requests filed with multiple agencies under Florida's public records laws.
Among the findings:
• The university's police chief obtained original police reports as well as supplemental reports from Tallahassee police on Nov. 8, 2013, at least four days before the case was turned over to Meggs, the local prosecutor responsible for investigating serious crimes and filing criminal charges.
JAMEIS WINSTON INCIDENTS TIMELINE
• The university's police chief forwarded the reports to a high-ranking administrator in the Florida State athletic department, and within days they ultimately wound up in the hands of Winston's defense attorney — also before Meggs was notified of the case and launched his own investigation.
• Two critical witnesses — Florida State football players who said they were present the morning of the alleged assault — discussed the case with Winston's lawyer and ultimately signed affidavits at his behest backing the quarterback's version of the incident. That happened before law enforcement officers tried to talk to them about what they saw and remembered, a dramatic road block in the state attorney's effort to determine whether Winston should be charged with rape.
• That same high-ranking administrator in the athletic department sought information from the university's police chief about a reporter seeking the reports on the allegations against Winston.
• The second-highest ranking officer in the campus police department ran interference with another reporter seeking information about the allegations, terming them a "rumor" that he was glad he could "dispel."
• Both of those police officials were involved in updating Florida State administrators on the case and helping formulate the school's public relations response in the first days after the explosive story became public.

Nov. 25, 2012: A woman calls 911 to report that there are two men on a bike path on the Florida State University campus with what appears to be a black, long-barreled pistol. Police respond and draw their guns as they approach Jameis Winston and his roommate and teammate, Chris Casher, and ultimately handcuff them. The two tell the officer they were shooting at squirrels with a pellet gun, and they are released without charges being filed.
Nov. 25, 2012: A few hours after the incident on the bike path, Winston, Casher and two other Florida State players, Mario Edwards and Kenneth “P.J.” Williams, allegedly engage in a BB- and pellet-gun battle at their apartment house, inflicting an estimated $4,000 in damage. Management at the apartment house declines to press criminal charges after an FSU athletic official vows that the players will pay for the damage.
Dec. 7, 2012: Winston is accused of raping a woman at his off-campus apartment. The woman reports the assault to police that day and five weeks later calls a detective and identifies Winston as her attacker after seeing him in a class. Tallahassee police drop the investigation, contending the woman has refused to cooperate, then revive it nine months later and sent it to State Attorney Willie Meggs. Meggs conducts a new investigation but concludes that there is not enough evidence to file criminal charges. Winston’s lawyer contends the sexual encounter was consensual. The U.S. Department of Education later launches a federal investigation of the school’s handling of the incident after questions arise about whether Florida State followed the provisions of Title IX, and in August 2014 the school launches an investigation of Winston under the student code of conduct.
July 21, 2013: Winston is accused of entering a Burger King in Tallahassee and helping himself to soda from the fountain machine without paying for it. A restaurant employee later tells police she gave Winston a cup of water but that he poured the water out and helped himself to several cups of soda despite her objections. No charges are filed.
April 29, 2014: Winston is accused of stealing $32.72 worth of crab legs from a Tallahassee supermarket. He is given a civil citation that allows him to perform community service and is suspended from the FSU baseball team until he completes that work. Winston tells police he “forgot” to pay for the crab legs and publicly apologizes.
May 20, 2014: Winston is expected at a code-of-conduct hearing for Chris Casher and Ronald Darby, two FSU teammates who alleged the witnessed a portion of the sexual encounter involving the quarterback and the woman who accused him of rape. They are both accused of violating school rules. Winston does not show up for the hearing, and his lawyer contends that no one from the school ever asked him to be there – something that is disputed by attorneys involved in the process. However, FSU officials later acknowledge that they have no way to force a witness to attend a code-of-conduct hearing.
In summary:
http://www.foxsports.com/college-foo...n-state-101514The NCAA arguably wasn't adequately equipped to handle a case of Penn State's magnitude. But the Jameis Winston case is a textbook example of what the NCAA was designed to prevent: an athletic department running roughshod over all notions of fair play and decency, a star athlete protected from the legal consequences of his actions because he made it more likely a team would win on the field. Of course, the NCAA is so impotent right now that it offers no real check on a university's behavior. This isn't lack of institutional control, it's something even scarier: total institutional control. That's why FSU has operated with such flagrant disregard for truth, justice, and athletic accountability.
lol
1. Mississippi State
2. Florida State
3. Auburn
4. Ole Miss
5. Oregon
6. Alabama
7. TCU
8. Michigan State
First official rankings. Also Notre Dame 10th, lol.
people being up and arms about these early 'rankings' are hilarious lol
If I was a ND fan I'd be pretty upset considering they almost beat FSU. I guess they have some outside chance at the top four if they can beat Arizona St, USC, and defensive powerhouse Louisville.
Otherwise the SEC West/SEC Championship will sort itself out and if Oregon, TCU, and Sparty keep winning they'll have a shot too.
I agree the major conferences will end up sorting themselves out, but I am pretty salty about Ole Miss losing and jumping up 3 spots compared to the AP. Thats some Archie Manning telling people how to vote bullshit.
Yeeeah, Ole Miss at 4 was my main wtf moment, but then i remembered.. who cares, this shit will sort itself out by the end of the year and hopefully Auburn can win. if not, then rip season.
lmao...

TCU now has the highest-scoring offense in the country. That's going to require more ammunition.
The Horned Frogs' 82-27 home victory over Texas Tech on Saturday came with a cost: They scored so many points that they burned through their season supply of fireworks.
Drew Martin, TCU's assistant AD for marketing and licensing, said Monday he's working with the school's game-day pyrotechnician to determine just how big a fireworks order the school needs to place for its final two home games.
Woo
So FSU arrived a day early to Louisville to squeeze in some practice. Only problem, they didn't have anywhere to practice. So they took to the Great Lawn (public park) on the riverfront. They attempted to throw out all the media attempting to photograph the practice. From a public park. If that wasn't enough...they got this beautiful shot...yeah, that's a Joe's Crab Shack.

Jameis must have had a seizure with all those delicious crab legs around.
