The committee will end in it's inaugural season. The ACC will burn it to the ground. Say what you want about FSU, they're defending national champs and won 28 straight football games. The fact that they're #4, behind 3 teams with a loss, is a complete joke.

28-0 doesn't mean shit in the rankings. 10-0 sure, but they've barely beaten some bad teams and they're big wins don't look good anymore

If there wasn't a four team playoff, and the top 2 teams went to the national championship as they have in years past, there's no way FSU would be ranked 4. It would be 1 or 2. But since 4 teams go, it's OK to manipulate the rankings of the top 4 however you see fit. I guess to make some kind of a statement? I don't know. If this wasn't a four team playoff, and the top 2 went, and FSU was omitted, it would be the biggest controversy in college football history. But there's a 4 team playoff now, so dropping them to 4 is OK. I think it's a massive slap in the face.

The fact that this is a four team playoff instead of 2 is the only reason they are 4.

I don't know, maybe it's some weird way of rewarding FSU by not putting them at 2 or 3 and sending them way they fuck out to the rose bowl. Regardless, it feels stupid as hell. New Orleans is a much better place for them, and I would rather play Alabama than Oregon. The logistics of the game work fine I suppose.

While I'm not claiming to be some guru on sports, but if it was any other sport would a team with loses be above a team with no losses? Is any other sport based purely on performance during the game and not wins? I think some sports do points but they don't do that with football right?

First of all, Vegas usually knows what it's doing in terms of H2H odds.

But I'll agree it's a slap to FSU to keep dropping them. The arbitrary committee shit is dumb, they should have just kept the BCS rankings and made the playoff take the top four teams. I'm glad the committee is re-evaluating their rankings every week based on performance, but winning ugly is still winning. Besides, Bama struggled with Arkansas, Oregon did the same with Washington State, and TCU did with Kansas. It's not like the one-loss teams ahead of them are boatracing everyone they play.

Like Anoat said, this is likely a ploy to get Bama and FSU to play each other. Oregon and Bama are 14+ point favorites, and TCU is a 34-point favorite, so the top three are unlikely to shift. If FSU wins, they'll get Bama and it will be a ratings monster. If FSU loses, then it justifies moving them down. It's unfortunate that the first year post-BCS feels even dirtier than the old system.
