Me and 'Neko got a membership to One Life Fitness, what's a good beginner's routine? I admit my goal is to get the quarantine weight off and get a little stronger, have to be careful about my left ankle though (REALLY need to find a podiatrist that takes my insurance). They even have a saltwater pool.
Are you looking for strength training?

Strength and general fitness; ladies like me don't go for being buff most times, most of the time for us it's to burn some fat (not too much, too low on us girls isn't healthy) and shape up.

I'll get that on my phone though for when we go.

One of the things i tell most women... you are not going to be "Buff". Lift weights, it gives you a great shape and as you grow older, it will help you retain bone density. The number of women who tell me, "I don't want to look like a dude, like one of those freak women." You won't. Those women not only take a lot of shit to look like that, but it takes years and years of dedication to look like that. Most women who lift, just look fit, not buff.

I've been a natty lifter for 7~ years now. I work out at least 6 days a week and my diet is in tune, and the best i can do is look athletic, but no one would see me and think i'm "Buff" or "Big". I have no idea where people got it in their heads that you can accidentally get to those sizes lol.

I never thought I would, I just wanna not be the fat girl (I put on some weight over the pandemic) which I hope this will do. I just needed to figure out where to start; I have my old weights class notes and a beginner's weights book (had my OTHER brother who has Prime order it for me). Proly won't use supplements since I try to watch my diet anyway. I mean, you get in this nice gym with everything you can ask for and the question is, where do you start?

Was thinking once i can fix my transpo problem I'll be going every day and when I don't do weights, I'll be doing cardio. ^^

Counts on what you want to work on. You can't spot reduced body fat, but you can spot increased muscle. Most women want to work lower body for legs and glute gains. If that is you, look up any lower body workout, or check out r/strongcurves.

    Squats
    Glute bridges
    hack squats
    etc
    etc

If you want to do full-body, just look up anything men do, as it translates well to women too, just put less focus on the things you don't care about. The goal is to just add a little more every week (That could be weight, sets, or reps). Progressive overload is the goal.

I feel compound lifts, easing into it as a beginner, will be very effective in burning fat and gaining muscle. Squats, deadlifts, etc.

If you're avoiding the look, you won't automatically looked "super jacked" unless you are consistently lifting very heavy after a prolonged amount of time. Also, I believe a legit youtube channel like AthleanX should be very helpful on free time, as he covers a magnitude of topics and exercises relating to fitness and not just lifting weights.

I always tell people to start with PPL after they learn the basic compound movements. You don't need to squat in a rack, hack squat machine or leg press is just fine, so don't feel scared of having to do legit squats in the squat rack, deadlifts are great but you can work the same muscles via a few exercises if you don't feel sure about deadlifts. I do rack pulls and then work on my hammies/lower back and glutes in other ways. Same for bench press, you don't have to do barbell, machines are 100% fine but make sure you focus on form and muscle-mind connection. Proper form is key and feeling the muscles being worked is also key.

And no, you won't get "jacked" or "buff" as a woman doing strength training and bench press/squats/deadlifts and such

Did you get the actual bike or a better bike with the app? That shit seems to be all the rage as far as setup goes and we were debating doing it cause my wife wants some type of home workout app/class type thing that does multiple types of workouts.

Got the regular Peloton bike, the subscription comes with biking classes (live or delayed) and access to the yoga/weights/whatever other classes too - on the bike screen or on the app.

Unless they changed something, the dumb thing about Peloton is the sub cost goes WAY up when you use it with their bike/Tread. My wife uses it, but we use it with a Kieser bike.

Yeah I see a lot of people are really happy with the app + a different bike. There's some really good ones out there.

I had a good difficult 30 minute Peloton ride last night and when I was in the shower I noticed my left ankle was really swollen. It doesn't hurt at all but it's like...retaining water like crazy, like my wife's ankles would after giving birth. No idea wtf is going on there, still swollen today.
