Got COVID-19 for the first time ever a couple weeks ago, whole family got it, it sucked, but I'm clear now and just put up my best numbers on a 30 minute Peloton ride since August of last year, so it looks like there's no long damage there.

Been stuck at 192 lbs for the past week and a half, switching to lower carb/higher protein to push past it.

Okay I thought I'd ask BG. Partly b/c of my sister dying, I gained weight when I didn't want to. Got way out of shape too.

Trying to reform now and (you'll see this in random win later; really close to fixing my transpo problem as you can guess) I'm thinking about paying for a personal trainer for a month at the gym once I got my driver's license. But that's not the point..This week I'm headed to SFGE.

Does anyone know where to find some stretches/a light body weight workout that you could do in a hotel room without being a butt? And I mean for someone who's walking a lot? Figure that might help get rid of some tight stuff before I go running though the con.

First off - Sorry to hear about your sister.

As for hotel room workouts - yoga would probably be your best bet. Could probably youtube some "beginner yoga" videos and see which person you like/can get into with the most. Always recommend planks as well.

Seconding youtube videos. Not just for Yoga, but there are some good ones out there for like 10-15 minute home workouts that don't even require weights.

Botosi: Thank you. It's been 2 years but I'm still dealing with the aftermath. And both of you; I'll look into that. Last thing I want to do while I'm down there is be obnoxious to anyone unlucky enough to be in the next room. I figure I"m going to prolly get a lot of cardio just walking around (SFGE was the smaller one but it's getting bigger), just need to stretch out first.

Well, it took almost 3 months but I'm finally down 20 lbs. Clearly smaller in the afters but other than in my face I barely feel like I look better. Clothes fit much better though. Lifts are down but surprisingly I'm hitting Peloton PRs again, topping my Aug 2022 peak when I was riding 2-3x a week (now it's like 4x/month).

Should I keep going? Get down to the 170s?

The hard part about being healthy and going to the gym, etc is our worldview is narrow. We see young, lean/strong guy, a lot of which are juiced to the gills and think that is the avg body and we use that metric to judge ourselves.

You look better than 95% of the American population. You look strong and healthy, and fuck you for that hair you piece of shit.

Also obviously I'm just using a junk Amazon scale with electrical resistance sensors for the body analysis, do you think I'm really still 22% body fat in the afters? Feels high, but I've never done a DEXA scan or whatever.

Thanks - haven't been to the gym since pre-pandemic, so haven't spent much time sizing other dudes up since I just workout at home. It leaves me a bit unanchored though - my wife couldn't care less, my kids don't care, I'm not in the streets trying to get pussy, this is just for me I guess?

    Something to do I suppose.

Nothing is really good with BF ests, the closest you get is using a caliper. My scale thinks i'm 10% BF which i know is fucking wrong. I would think you are between 17-20. The changes you see going lower will really start to show, but the thing to remember is the leaner you get the quicker your body can change day to day.

When i'm around 13%, i look fucking amazing in the mornings because i don't have much water in me, but if i look at myself after lunch i feel puffy and the lean look is only in good lighting. Sadly, the leaner you get/better you look, the body dysmorphia starts to kick in. You start chasing pumps, and if you are bloated it shows (And can fuck up your day mentally)

This is all personal shit tho, not saying it would translate to you.

My right shoulder is acting up again, like it does every time I lift consistently for a year. Switched to a bodyweight routine, not helping. I know that I need to just stop for a few months for it to recover (done this cycle probably 8x now), might just go hard on the Peloton and let my strength wither

There are a ton of reasons why this would happen. That said, most of the time this happens to me and others i've spoken with, it normally means you are lacking rear delts and upper back work. Being weaker in these areas, while overloading the chest and front/side delts will start pushing/pulling tendons into bad positions. When i started really focusing on making sure i was adding these to my workout cycles, stacking deep tissue massages (A few times they would comments on my upper back feeling "Like Rocks") tends to keep the pain away for me.

I was alternating push and pull days, don't think it's back weakness. This dates back my whole life, my shoulders were hypermobile when I was a kid, I could partially pop them out like a parlor trick. Then playing volleyball for 4 years my right one got messed up from hitting, persisted a decade later when I started lifting.
