Ehh, it's not a high or anything but if you do take a solid dose of it in your drink you will definitely feel it. Not too dissimilar to certain preworkouts, just not at intense. It's actually quite uncomfortable a feeling for me if I add too big a scoop to my drink.

You wont notice immediate energy or power gains though, it's nothing like that. Iirc you do recover quicker on it

How much are you adding to your drink because if you’re taking the recommended dose you shouldn’t feel anything.

Yeah 3-5g daily is pretty average. I only do about 3 each day and it does have an effect but only after it builds up. I can feel way more energy...case in point I haven't take it in a few weeks and have felt my energy drop a chunk at the gym lately

I want to call bullshit, but I had to stop taking that stuff after realizing it was the reason I kept getting massive cramps after intense workouts. It still doesn’t make sense to me, and most of my gym bros think it’s all in my head. But after my shoulder surgery, I stopped using it for a while and noticed that after cycling days, my legs no longer felt like they were about to seize up when I stood up.

Once I was cleared to train fully again, I went hard for a while with no cramping. Then I started taking it again, and within about two weeks, the cramps came back. I just hope I’m one of those people it doesn’t actually do much for, because those cramps aren’t worth it. I’m talking five-plus minutes on the floor, can’t move, sweating through my shirt kind of pain.

    Everyone’s body reacts differently.

I promise you, I’ve tried everything under the sun and in huge amounts: magnesium, salt pills, electrolyte drinks, even the basics like Gatorade and Powerade (around 600 calories worth before, during, and after workouts). The only thing that makes the cramps go away was stopping creatine.

Edit: FYI, this was all done over the course of years. Finding out it was creatine was just a mistake because of my surgery.

Well I bought a pack of creatine gummies and it says to take three per day either pre or post workout, looks like its a 2 week supply on that math so I'll see how I feel about it after two weeks if I want to continue buying more

I would do a powder over gummies due to cost I think (not sure how much those gummies ran you). You also want more then 2 weeks to really get a good feel for it, go a month.

Muscle cramps? Honestly i'm there with you if that's the case because I would get crazy cramps for certain muscles even with a lot of electrolytes and magnesium extra in my diet. If I did curls to failure I would have times where my forearm muscle would cramp and contract my arm and I would have to slowly pull it apart to unhinge it. Now that you mention it I haven't noticed it as much since dropping creatine for past couple weeks but I also wasn't hitting the gym as hard. Curious.

    Oh wait

Maybe that's why I'm getting insane lower back cramps

I hadn't taken creatine for like a decade and started a couple weeks ago, immediately my lower back started going nuts

Y'all should try GLOW. My joints feel amazing, and by that I mean I don't feel them anymore and nothing is creaking or cracking lol

2 week pack of gummies was $20, there was a more expensive 3 week supply for $35 from a different brand but I was like nah let me try out the cheap stuff to start to see how it goes

Dude… twenty bucks will get you a year’s supply of the powder. If you really want the gummies that bad, just grab a bag of regular gummy bears and eat a few after mixing the powder into your morning drink.

I mean yeah if you increase muscle mass by creatine use you're going to get cramps. You can't just do a bunch of that as you get older. Either knock the dose down or stop taking it.

The powder is really the way to go man. It's completely flavorless and mixes with any water real easily. Like I said before I've even mixed it with yogurt drinks before, but smoothies count too. It's honestly like the perfect supplement as far as consumption and benefits go.

The creatine doesn't really do "THAT" much for muscle mass, I mean you're looking at like 1-2% maybe? Does give you a lot of the energy though which is why I take it, you obviously get the water retention too so your water weight will go up a bit. I stopped for a few just because my doctor was freaking out over my creatinine levels and thought it was the creatine even though high creatinine levels doesn't actually mean kidney issues but I hopped off just to do a blood test to show him that it's only the creatine raising the levels and not my kidneys exploding.

Errr, if you mean serum creatinine it shouldn't be high otherwise it's a pretty good indicator your kidneys aren't clearing effectively.

And it's not a matter of whether you're gaining *tons* from it, anytime your muscles need to metabolize energy they're going to be sore from lactate buildup... So if you recover quick and use them again they're going to be even more sore ... Rinse and repeat. Also draws water in so...

Yeah, I was under the impression that it basically helps convert ADP to ATP (I think I’ve got that right). That just means you can push a little harder during your workouts, which translates into slightly better gains than you’d get without it. It’s not directly part of the muscle-building process; it just helps you push harder so you can break the muscle down more effectively.
