Five month Reta update. Started in mid Sept but forgot to take progress pictures for two weeks, as well as pictures from this morning. From 270-275 down to 227.
Still got a ways to go. Lost a bunch of muscle being unable to work out prior to surgery, and still not cleared for anything above a five pound dumbbell.

Thanks for at least acknowledging that insurance companies are the biggest barrier because I have zero issue prescribing this to my patients.
Unless they're on antipsychotics there isn't really an indication for my specialty to prescribe it to patients with a normal BMI.
That would be like prescribing antidepressants to patients who don't have depression.
Or I guess the better question is will you continue to refill the prescription if an overweight patient gets down to normal BMI.
But as you said, insurers are the problem, so all the prescriptions in the world don't mean anything if people have to pay $5k a year or more cash. That's the hole I'm filling.

PR on a 5k race this morning at 39:47. My first ever sub 40 minute 5k. Two minutes better than the same race last year. I celebrated with a fruit juice box. Hell yeah brother.
Went on a long fitness drought over the last 18 or so months around turning 40. Got back into a decent rhythm starting about 6 months ago after my pops passed unexpectedly. 2-3x a week in gym (largely heavy lifts), skiing 30-40 days this winter, and some Peloton action which has been less regular than I wanted, but has been a good option to have for low impact cardio.
Down about 20lbs thus far and seeing some nice body changes. Bench started at 5x5 @175lbs (84kg). Now at 5x5 @245lbs (111kg). Put up a final 3-rep set of 285 tonight that I was happy with. Seeing pretty similar linear-ish progression in other lifts. Pretty happy overall.
Did my first ever 10k today (not on a treadmill). Finished in 1:23:18. My friends are all like “HALF MARATHON NEXT?!” and outwardly I’m like oh hell no but inside I’m a little bit like hell maybe
So apparently, a lot of people are terrified of any kind of interaction in the gym. So if someone asks them how many sets they have they'll just get up and go. Apparently they dont like the conflict. I must be getting old because what kind of baby back bitch shit is that
The 5 magic words at the gym are "Mind if I work in?"

Normally you ask for the set count before asking to work in. Sometimes it is easier to wait if they are almost done.
PR’ed on dumbbell chest press today. Repped out a set of eight 55s and I was like I think I can get 60 up at least once. And one time was all I had in me but I got it damn it. Now my arms feel like the wacky waving arm inflatable tube men
