Really feeling my squats in my left quad more than my right. Left is super sore and the right feels like I didn't even squat at all. Now my logical conclusion is my right has been worked more somehow so it is more prepared for the workout, or I am trying to use my left more or something? Honestly the why is secondary, my priority is how I can get past it and get my left on the same page as my right.
Keep squatting...? Everyone is asymmetrical in strength, muscle bellies, etc. You're fine. Unless you don't know how to activate your quads in a squat.
Foam Roll
You can try altering the width of your stance too.
Maybe. I'll keep plugging along and see if it goes away.
In other news, I can tell it is February, second night I am alone at the gym.
My gym was clean of resolutioners by the end of the first week. Then again it is rather grungy and all the cardio equipment is partitioned off.
The absolute worst part about my gym though is this cheapass noodle bowl joint 100' away and as soon as you come out the front the food smell hits you like kryptonite.
I think my resolutioners are late. Tonight was the first time in months it wasn't just me and the cleaning crew at the gym.
I've been doing the smolov base and intense program a few months now. . . Most days i get there around 4-7pm, the worst time to be there it feels like.
Getting to one of 3 squat racks 3 days a week is rough, but was doable at my old gym.
I moved and started at a new gym last week and it's like everyone who didn't do legs at the last gym does their bro curls and semi crossfit semi mega super sets there.
I'm ok with working in with you, as long as you actually do work. Quit talking too much wasting time and do your stuff.
But the smolov was a great, painful program to do, i am sore all the time. My foam roller and baseball's i have to roll my quads and hamstrings and back with are getting regular daily work.
If you have been doing SL 5x5 or DUP and want something new, it's fun to try.
Did you just recommend Smolov to a group of people who are barely past the novice stage?

You can be squatting and not using your right quad at all, or your left one could just be much weaker than the right and therefore fatigued easier. When you have the bar on your back turn your heels out while screwing your feet into the ground, trying to spread the floor apart inbetween your feet.
but milkster, you're still a novice too
IIFYM is awesome if you have self control and can stick to a reasonable plan.
You can do grilled cheese sticks too.

You're welcome.
Pinch the ends btw. This recipe skips that for some reason.
