NORTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) –

Homicide was called in to investigate after a 1-year-old and his father were shot in the back late Wednesday night.

According to police, the infant and his 23-year-old father were shot in the 600 block of Emma around 10:00 p.m.

Police say the 1-year-old is currently listed in critical, unstable condition and the boy’s father is listed in critical condition.

No other information was available.

Update: The incident from earlier was some racist white guy who drove into the crowd of protestors, smiling, and subsequently ran over Ms. Senator Chappelle Nadal's intern and broke his toe. Took police an hour before they questioned him about it and called an ambulance. The first thing they did do when they arrived, however, is call the bomb squad, and arbitrarily arrest protestors.

Ferguson still being barricaded like a giant holding pen. Cops still seen without ID or badges. Basically, more of the same, even though absolutely nothing coming from peaceful protests, doing the same shit they've been doing: asking for justice.

Amazing how people hyped it up to be something bigger than what it was. People are still clinging on, trying to start shit in that town to make headlines. People lost interest once it came out the media fucked a lot of those people's perceptions and now people are feeling critical of their own feelings.

And now, with a lot of the "activists" getting their own claims of racism and police brutality getting thrown back in their faces with dash cams and audio countering their claims, they're losing credibility. Even the people of Ferguson didn't want the extra added hype and attention. Now, because the case has gotten so out of control, witnesses are getting impeached, jurors are getting dismissed due to bias, and Darren Wilson is likely gonna walk.

Then, there will be real riots.

I'm not quite sure where you're getting your information but I haven't seen most of what you're talking about anywhere. Could you point me to a few articles or sources? I'd be interested in reading them. If anything, locals still seem to be protesting regularly and still upset about the whole situation. I see nothing about witness impeachment or juror dismissal either. The national media moving on to other stories (like the NFL and the Middle East) doesn't say anything about the validity of the situation. I'd say it speaks more to the 24-hour news cycle and the short attention span of the American consumer.

In there are some good points. Odds are you are going to see that trial (if one comes about) moved out of that county, probably to the other end of Missouri. Trying to find an unbiased juror (for either guilty or not guilty right off the bat) is going to be next to impossible with all the media coverage and news that came about.

The locals are interested in doing what they've always done (peaceful protests), but they're still the ones who condemned the way the media portrayed the situation and made it in to what it is today. Hell, there's articles in this very thread that media experts are calling out other media sources for hyping the situation and muddying the facts of the case to make it something it isn't.

This isn't unusual, nor is it a rare occurrence. Even Sharpton has been called out on his BS.

The jury dismissal and witness impeachment are just my own observations. Dorian Johnson still has not been formally interviewed by a prosecutor or the police. Why? He went to the media first, and his account is tainted. His testimony is never going to be admissible in court. No one's even talking about the different witnesses criminal history, which I suspect the defense is also going to use to impeach the witnesses on the stand.

The Grand Jury selection process had over 1200 interviewees from across Saint Louis County. After so many days and weeks after the shooting and with all the media surrounding the incident, what person on that jury doesn't know and hasn't already formulated a biased opinion? Not to mention the majority of the jury is white...

This is why people are angry:

This is just the circlejerk spewing mad hate right there. The same anti-police and ACLU zealot ridden propaganda is thrown around like chump change, and yet people complain the media is biased still towards the police, when they're sourcing biased content themselves.

The reality is, the hate is still minor. People still trust, and love the police. Maybe, most of these people know that it's all hype and BS surrounding these incidents, and they're not as "apparent" or "the norm" as people play it out to be. Or maybe they know that 99% of the police aren't out there to "get you" or to "put you in a cell".

People always want to blame what they want, when in actuality, no one is taking responsibility for themselves. People always touch on the topic, and always hint at the real problem (which is poverty in America), but no one wants to go after that problem. It's too big. Instead, it's easier to blame the institution and the Police as the culprits. Afterall, Police have discretion, right? Why don't they use it and just not arrest people? Sadly, people don't understand that in most cases, the police have no discretion, and can get in serious trouble for using it when it's not warranted. People don't get that the police don't make the laws and don't always agree with the laws they enforce, yet instead of going after the lawmakers and the politicians, they go after the people who are tasked with enforcement.

It's okay, though. Keep playing the hype and the game. It won't be over and it'll never end, and the struggle will continue for many hundreds of years to come.
