I think it's been pretty fucking bad considering Media personal were arrested night after night.
I need to make sure I start putting /sarcasm in my posts. It was a jab, sorry. Only I or Jmc would get that joke.
Also, I dunno why you guys are so outraged over most of the media thing. Media does not = a pass from getting arrested, prosecuted, being told to move, nor does it give you the right to skirt the law. You still have rules to follow and your right to be part of the media can be revoked by the police. Even the guys on Vice news kept talking about how they could have been arrested at any time.
Now some of the instances were pretty stupid and boneheaded on the police part. We're always told not to fuck with Media and send them to the staging area. Those who don't comply get arrested, plain and simple. Most of them have rap sheets a mile long for stuff similar to this.
See neph, what these people are arguing is things like media coralling is morally wrong, even if it's legally right. Of course, police don't police based on morals, but don't tell bg that otherwise you get subforums like this one.

Well, the media does have a place. I don't think there should be a gag on the media and I strongly believe in journalistic freedom. With that, comes a risk. You risk getting killed trying to get the story. You risk putting people in danger for the scoop. That's why I don't have a problem with arresting or detaining a journalist, because I can't live with your blood on my hands if I were able to prevent it. Otherwise, go crazy filming and asking questions.
The Gestapo were well within the rights of the German laws at the time. That in itself does not make it right. Don't want the media filming you beating on a minority with batons? Don't beat on a minority with batons. Removing the media from the equation is not the morally acceptable means of accomplishing your goal. But then again, when has this racial divide ever been moral?
One of the new claimants, Ferguson resident Antawn Harris, said he was recording police as they beat another man when police turned to him and shot him in the face with a rubber bullet. Harris had to be treated at a hospital, the suit claims.
Sounds a lot to me like someone not wanting to be filmed beating someone.
ummmmm they shot him in the face FOR HIS PROTECTION fucking dumbass, if he was just wandering around taping the police all willy-nilly he might have been injured
There was one filed by the reporters that had gotten thrown out. This one is for the protesters. Not a bad case they have, actually. The civil liability already made it through the red tape so it's probably on it's way to settlement.

Civil rights groups, clergy criticize latest arrests of protesters in Ferguson, Mo., and bonds of up to $2,700: apne.ws/1rGR8PO
Freelance journalist, Mary. Targeted for coverage of the chief when he pulled the PR stunt, she was the one who captured the image of the police rushing through the back of the crowd and tackling random protestors. "Searched twice, hands up under my breasts. Arms were numb due to handcuffs. "
Video of the arrests:
Sporting orange jumpsuits, they allowed one of the protestors to tweet while awaiting bond...
Released, chanting on their way out and then held the 4.5min moment of silence.
Stl County is also stated to take over operations at Ferguson.

Video of the arrests:
Back of the hand swipe under the breasts for searching. Pretty standard. Would like to point out improper handcuffing and nerve damage from handcuffing is the highest reported civil lawsuit filed by defendants.
Video was pretty clean. Nothing too rough except the one short light-skinned chick who was actively fighting against the officers and screaming they were breaking her arm.
Nothing to report from last night's protests. Weather has been keeping turnout numbers low, the real protests will start next weekend with their next national call for action. Mr. Kweli is expected to show again, as well.
On a bit of a side note, from my personal experience recently on twitter, I stumbled upon the first case of NBPP/NOI sighting in these protests. Not an actual member of those groups, but someone who regularly attends the protests(not 1 of the women on the frontlines, getting arrested) was caught parroting their black supremest ideology one night.
Here is her retweet from a self-proclaimed "Black Nationalist" that started it all:
And subsequent conversation that alienated one of the freelance journalists that was down there for many days
This isn't really a big deal, as the core group of protestors doesn't tolerate hate speech of any kind. When the crowd grows, you do see some ignorant folks like her try to use the protests as a tool for their own hate. Just thought I would put her on blast for anyone following Ferguson on twitter. Black-ish Power, bitches.
Organizing efforts getting better each day. Protestors take to the STL symphony, interrupting Brahms requiem, to sing a requiem of their own, for Mike Brown.

Cool, so now the protestors are interrupting shit unrelated to the shooting to vie for attention. Now this is tresspassing (if they didnt hve tickets) or disrupting a public event. Lets protest an injustice by breaking the law. I bet the people who pai good money for that show are ecstatic about the protestors actions.
