Nobody actually knows if this is what happened lol.

I'm not just siding with the cops or anything, but sal is right, wait till we know wtf happened before the riots start.

I find it hard to believe that unarmed person would attack an officer inside their police vehicle.

Where was his partner, anyway? Or don't cops not always work in pairs (or more) in the state?

They don't work in pairs in florida. Obviously the story isn't from Florida but no, afaik cops don't work in pairs.

Well that seems stupid. I can understand why cops have a tendency to overreact then.

Yes. The witness accounts provided so far have said that he was running away while being shot at, "jerked" (presumably when he was first hit), then turned around to face the officer and put his hands up, and then was shot at several more times before he fell to the ground.

We know he was shot from distance. We know he was unarmed. We know enough to demand to know more, and "more" hasn't been forthcoming. Incident report STILL isn't released a week later.

They have to follow whatever legal processes that are in place, especially if there's a chance the officer could be charged. And there are witness reports that he was running at the cop before he was shot so... Can't just pick and choose which to believe.

Well, according to Missouri state law, incident reports are public record. So they're already not following standard procedure by not making that available while somehow feeling it relevant to release an unrelated incident report that wasn't connected to the shooting in question (against the advice of the Department of Justice, at that). It's not hard to understand the frustration at how this is being handled and the worry that justice won't be served for the community.

Well sure if the investigation is over then it's public record, maybe the investigation is not over?

Why is there so much stupidity here? It's like people are searching for why it's the kid's fault.

The fact that he did or did not rob the QT has NO bearing on what followed from the officer's end.

Late. This thread blew up. I'm here now so everyone can relax.

Damn right they're scared. They started a huge ass riot that they can't contain. You'd be shitting yourself too. Also, I love you but I'm giving you the finger through the internet.

The police reached out to him many times, but he refused to give a statement. You're right about the lawyer, my fault.

I would depending on the proximity. If he (Wilson) shot Brown once in the vehicle, Brown turned and Wilson kept firing and he was within 1-2 feet of the officer, I would say it's justified. Brown (allegedly) punched Wilson in the face hard enough to do significant damage and tried to get his gun. Fearing for his life, Wilson fires 8-9 shots at Brown as he either pushes away from Wilson to get away from the gun or tries to flee. He then runs another 10-15 feet where he collapses and dies. If he shot him while he was 10-15 feet away, then there had to be other circumstances like Brown turned around and charged him or he was reaching for something.

Or, Wilson shot the guy in the back while he was running or shot him in the front when he turned and put his hands up. Deadly Force won't be justified here, and a murder charge will be following.

Also, I want to point out the airspace over Ferguson is restricted because people were shooting at the helicopters. FAA granted the no-fly zone Tuesday. It's been lifted:

Who here said it was his fault he got shot because he robbed a store? And no shit people are searching for reasons why it could be Browns fault. You know that is a possibility, right?

My stance is just that the autopsy report either clears the officer or doesn't, until that's released people should just chill.

How is an autopsy going to prove or disprove whether Brown was a victim of walking down the street while black?

The incident report is not the investigative report. And even if it were, it doesn't answer why they released one incident report (pertaining to the robbery) and not the one that people are asking for (regarding the shooting).

    @ Correction

It's going to show if he was shot relative to the position of the Officer, which will show weather or not he can justify Deadly Force. That's the key there. But, just because he met the Deadly Force element, doesn't mean he won't get charged. He can still get some Negligent Homicide charges.

Someone should explain to me why the burden is on the dead kid to defend himself from the grave, rather than assume the cop who shot him dead might be trying to desperately justify his terrible actions.

"We don't know/can never know what really happened" is an absolution. It also belittles second-hand accounts, since at that point, you're saying you can never know the truth unless you experience it first hand.
