How you extrapolated that from my comment on systemic racism is beyond me.
How you extrapolated that from my comment on systemic racism is beyond me.
Your post was riddled with sarcasm, even the internet detected it.
"Well i guess its even now"
I know you're not condoning what happened in this incident, but I don't think anyone here is implying we're all square now. But I don't think throwing more racism into a racism firepit is going to put out the racism... fire.... If anything, this incident just pushes those certain folk to feel more justified in their feelings towards this whole thing. I wish I could say I'm surprised something like this happened, but I'm not. I'm only surprised it didn't happen much sooner. I wish we lived in a world where racism was but a distant memory. But I know it won't happen in our lifetime. Far too much animosity.
Hopefully these people end up in prison, and we can just move on.
Also I think the biggest point of disgust for me, is that our society is shit in general. No one even tried to help him or batted an eye at it, just gotta bust out them phones to record it. I know its "The bystander effect" or some shit but come on.
Never said we were even, and you are a fucking idiot for even going that route. All I said is that the racism runs on both ends, posted a link of 3 people gang beating a white guy while people on the train are fucking laughing at it. But thanks for playing the troll game again.
Absolutely, I can't stand how nearly all fights that occur in the public nowadays are seen as cheap entertainment. It's cowardly, it's sad, and it's frightening. I'm a skinny fucker with no scrapping skills whatsoever, but I still speak-up when some dumb shit is developing and try to deescalate or redirect negative energy (it's sometimes easier to side-track some confrontations as they are often started out of boredom and many bullies are just plain simple).
These fools where looking for an excuse to fight, period. The racism is just the cherry on top. This is CNN's "aha! gotcha!" headline, just as they mimicked Fox New's narrative (which I believe Jon Stewart covered) when the DOJ reports came out, focusing on DW's "exoneration" while ignoring the most important fact that Ferguson practiced systemic racism, preying on blacks in every statistical category.
You literally said you were glad to see racism go both ways here, as if the video finally confirmed your own twisted bias. Obviously anyone can be racist, but racism overwhelmingly goes in one direction, if you really want to accurately qualify that statement. That's like posting an equivalent video saying "Aha! I knew Iraqis were racist" even though it doesn't even begin to tip the scales against state-sponsored genocide.
If by twisted bias you mean knowing full well that racism does run both ways, that there are people racist against all nationalities, then yea I guess it's a twisted bias. I've seen plenty of minorities who claim to hate the white man, and just as often I see it the other way as well. But the fact you can't wrap it around your head that it does run both ways, and it has shown in ferguson that there is anger coming from each side against each other is just fucking mind boggling.
I just gave you the explanation why racism is not equal both ways, who cares about your anecdotal experience with racism from minorities. Minorities don't have the power to disproportionately imprison other races, do they? They don't have the power to designate entire communities as "urban" areas that get treated like second-class citizens, do they? PoC can't even vote on equal grounds, get the same loans, mortgages, an education, or compete for the same jobs with the same credentials equally because the system is inherently racist. In some ways, today's racism, discrimination, and segregation actually beats out the Civil Rights era, it's just hidden better and celebrated behind closed doors.
This isn't even an argument, to begin with; there is no such thing as equal racism. The oppressed cannot be racist, on any meaningful scale, as their oppressor. This is true throughout the world, it's just white folk have everyone else beat in modern history.
Reading is fundamental. This argument has been made with you many times, with multiple posters, and yet you never learn from these experiences.
Jesus fucking Christ you are an idiot. Racism and oppression do not have to go hand in hand. I get your reading and comprehension skills are about the same as the keystone cops you love to insult at any given moment, but if you can't grasp that anyone can be racist and or experience racism, that's on you and not us.
Did I misinterpret what you said? I'm pretty sure you just said this: "A black person provoking an altercation with a white person upon asking about Ferguson then sucker punching them and having two other black people join in on the beating is not an act of racism". You then reinforced this statement with, and this is your direct quote: "The oppressed cannot be racist, on any meaningful scale, as their oppressor", aka: black people cant be racist, and if they are, its okay, because white privilege.
Well, we got some "hands up, don't shoot protests" going on in Boston again.
Protests started after a male was shot and killed by BPD the other day, after he shot a buddy of mine in the face on a traffic stop.
I really don't get these protests, and I'm just assuming people are protesting here because they have nothing better to do.
This argument would be true if it were not speaking in absolutes. Despite Nynja's(and now Melena's) failed attempts to pigeon-hole my own, and others' arguments in the past, I go out of my way to state that there are exceptions and there are rules. It shouldn't need to be said, but people also feel the need to co-opt people's struggles by saying dumb shit like #AllLivesMatter or "Palestine and Israel need to learn how to shake hands." Yes, that was an actual quote from someone IRL.
Instead of trying to play semantics hula-hoops, you could simply acknowledge what statistics already prove. There is no such thing as equal amounts of racism, this isn't Fox News, repeating the lie will not make it come true.
There's no semantics to be argued. You're the only one in this thread who's hell bent on a "them versus us" mentality.
Spare me your pitiful "but oh woes iz us minority" as if we can do no wrong, and thus granted some kind of leniency on criminal activity.
Yes, once again, I have made it clear that no black person can be racist and no color is as pure as black. We done here.
You're right. You merely implied justification for the individual's act as if it's some sort of numbers game. Even-Stevens amirite?
You got that backwards, homie. I'm not the one who expressed content with the display of hate crime on video. I don't roll that way, sorry.
