Well, we got some "hands up, don't shoot protests" going on in Boston again.

Protests started after a male was shot and killed by BPD the other day, after he shot a buddy of mine in the face on a traffic stop.

I really don't get these protests, and I'm just assuming people are protesting here because they have nothing better to do.

I think I saw a story about a police officer successfully having a bullet removed from his neck. Is that him? Either way, this is just a retarded reason to start protesting.

That's called co-opting a movement. Despite the tremendous efforts by organizers online, there is still a great many who bathe in ignorance; look no further than the cowboy who shot the two cops in Ferguson, placing both protestors' and cops' lives in danger. Hell, there are morons messaging Talib Kweli, arguably the most visible celebrity activist outside of Jessie Williams, claiming he is not involved and he is merely a keyboard activist. They don't want to be informed, they just want a reason to get angry and vent the stress of their shitty lives somewhere. This behavior is hardly unique to BLM, though, and the activists do a good job to insure those around them aren't up to this type of foolishness.

That was him, had a long surgery removing a bullet from next to his ear. He was shot under the right eye by a .357

For the last few days I've repeatedly heard about it on the radio when I'm driving at work, and the Radio station I listen to is KTRS which is owned by a TV news station (I forget which), so its on TV as well at least.

Really hope they catch the guy, pretty shit what he's doing. According to the radio, they're offering i think 5k$ now, also doubling up on patrols in the areas with what they believe are vulnerable churches. So lets hope they lock his ass up.

It's a popular theory that is spreading like wildfire in law enforcement circles. In essence, the theory states that police are now so afraid of being filmed by bystanders that they are no longer policing communities as aggressively as they used to.

Except this is a lie. We have every bit of evidence that police are actually more aggressive and lethal than they've ever been.

Could it be that they are becoming "more aggressive" because more and more people are resisting their orders and instructions? or is that totally not a possibility and all the poor innocent civilians are absolutely not at fault for anything and it's the big mean cops- I mean, white cops that are only being terrible and overly aggressive. Due to racism, of course.

not saying that cops aren't shitty or terrible but everytime I read a viral bullshit story about some abusive cop, I look at what the civilian did and it's like "well, they weren't... really... cooperating... soooooooooo"

The problem is that "cooperating" has become defined as complete and utter deference to their authoritah. Citizens shouldn't be combative with law enforcement, but they absolutely shouldn't be submissive when their rights are being trampled.

Direct example: The station I work at has a "regular". Guy basically holds up his "I'm homeless" sign (truth), people toss him a buck or two, plus he'll do jobs whenever he gets an offer he can do. Has a wife and kids living out of a hotel room. Convicted felon a decade+ ago. Quiet, nice guy with a little bit of a temper if someone starts something, but otherwise OK.

Was at our window getting a train ticket, one of the local cops trots up a rookie, points him out, and just has him write a trespassing ticket on the spot. They don't like him because they don't like "panhandlers"- guy's been ticketed repeatedly, trespassing etc. etc. and the judge keeps throwing out the charges because he really isn't doing anything and knows precisely where he's allowed to be. They give him the third degree, poke and prod verbally, etc. etc. hoping he'll give them an excuse so they can haul him in. Sometimes they don't bother with any real excuse, like when the Pope visited.

Meanwhile, a guy got stabbed six times on the platform last month, robbed of $60K (drug money courier) and there wasn't a cop in sight as the courier gets ringed by seven-eight guys, knifed repeatedly, and left to bleed while they calmly walk away to the train with a suitcase full of more money than I make in a year.

Not all cops are bad at their jobs- quite the opposite, I know some good ones - but the ones that fuck it up REALLY fuck it up and they breed the same kind of fuckups "training" new hires.
