loud and disruptive doesn't make it not peaceful, violence makes it not peaceful
Agreed, but the broken windows, burnt buildings, and bricks in the road tell me this is not peaceful. Like I said, I sympathize with them, but won't sit here and act like the police aren't in the right by moving in to protect businesses and roads. Looters suck, legit protesters getting caught in the middle.
What are they even protesting for anymore? Is there something that isn't being done that they're hoping will happen by protesting? Wheels are in motion for anything I can think of. Is someone hoping that protesting loudly enough will ensure the autopsy points in favor of the kid?
The very first action taken by the police after Mike Brown was executed was to rally up their riot gear and start pointing guns at people. They've escalated the situation this whole entire time, save for the brief PR attempt to change faces and replace the military gear with regular po-po. Now, back to military tactics and countless reports the past few days, returning to the same themes: police instigating and engaging first, attacking and arresting press, lying about and omitting information.
Update: Looks like the county autopsy has confirmed that Mike Brown was raging on that mary jane.
People want attention brought to the racist ideals that lay dormant beneath the surface in America. What the pet topic is of course, depends on the person. When you're stuck in the poverty cycle long enough, protesting is really your only way to give yourself voice.
It's amusing how quick every black vs. establishment affair quickly descends into blaming the victim and how the negative is presented before the positive. As if fucking looting doesn't happen in almost any protest situation. It's almost like the country has some unaired grievances with blacks or relies on stereotypes to avoid touching the pile of racist shit in the room. We give every available benefit of the doubt to people of other races but blax? It's in the blood apparently.
Nothing to do with being opportunity starved by racist policy and stereotyping.
How about a de-millitarization of police forces in America? Maybe outside investigations of police discharging a firearm? Or what about a uniform code of conduct requiring all police departments in America to meet minimum standards in conduct, accountability, and training?
Tired of inciting riots? Odd RT @ABC: JUST IN: Missouri governor: "We will not use a curfew tonight" in Ferguson - http://abcn.ws/YnuNdB
Paging anti gummint folk, paging anti gummint folk. You're needed on line 1.
It's easier to shot all the black people if they aren't locked down in their own houses. duh.
National Guard going to make shit worse. You think the police in this city are undertrained? Now imagine a force that plays army one weekend out of the month lol.
