Well, I am a police officer. I would probably give two shits more about those goddamn idiots bringing small children there to protest, knowing that some of their compatriots like to shoot. as for Nep: coming from a black person , i have never once felt safe around police and ive never been in a situation where ive given them anything but respect. I would LOVE for cops to be someone who actually protects and serves but as it stands thats not what the majority of this nations police force do. Blame it on the war on drugs blame it anything you would like the fact of the matter is most cops are not interested in protecting Its not a civil servant job it law enforcement and population control.

What is the solution? I want someone to come up with an honest solution to this whole issue. Factors to consider:

- Martial Law has been declared by Governor Knee-Jerk.
- Protesters are ignoring that directive.
- Dumb asses are taking advantage of the police concentrating on the protests to loot/steal/burglarize/rape/shoot/assault other people.
- The National Guard is in the CoC and have begun isolation tactics to shut the city down.
- The media is blatantly ignoring staging regulations.
- You still have people trying to kill police officers daily.

You're actually presenting things so that the people angry at an overly militarized and oppressive police response are the ones at fault here. "You ever been on guard duty in a town completely under the control of a U.S. Military force?" The problem is that the area is under control of a US military force when a proper response to this injustice as per the justice system is SUPPOSED to do would have at least stood a chance of stopping/slowing things. Instead they expected a population that knows about dystopian media and at the very least is educated on the basics of the civil rights movement/injustices of the past to not be outraged at forcibly suppressing/silencing media coverage which is going to look like they dont want anyone to see what they're up to, blatant military threats of suppression, blatant attempts to that are going to look like a cover up about what the officer did to anyone with half a brain, indiscriminate firing of CS gas, and the list of other disgusting things i've read in this thread to not be outraged by their ill thought out responses.
I thought the phrase for police was to "protect and serve." What the world is seeing instead is to "oppress and escalate." As a police officer you should be disgusted at this.

Just because everyone is given something in an equal amount doesn't mean they have the ability to attain the same ends as others. Equality isn't justice.
