Guys remember that night where they had the black cop come in and give everyone hugs and kisses, what happened that night?
he tear gassed the crowd 24 hours later
From what I gathered in that article, the people you're referencing just hate law enforcement. They're not there to pillage or burn shit down, they're there to attack cops.
They will not give their names. But their leaders say they are ready to fight, some with guns in their hands. “This is not the time for no peace,” said one man, a 27-year-old who made the trip here from Chicago.
He spoke after a small group of fellow militants held a meeting behind a looted store, sketching out ambitions for the days ahead.
“We are jobless men, and this is our job now — getting justice,” he said. “If that means violence, that’s okay by me. They’ve been doing this to us for years.”Really, these people care so much about their well beings lol.“People have been tweeting, ‘We are ready to die tonight,’ ” said Mary Pat Hector, a national youth organizer with the Rev. Al Sharpton’s national action network. “It is a trending topic.”
Pathetic really.
bruh you said looters. the article discusses looters in addition to the militants. it clearly states about the looters
from the beginning every report has been that the looters are out of towners and opportunists. Last night, as posted and linked to in this thread from other people, it was members of anarchist and communist groups starting shit, not people from Ferguson. Then there are the looters, leaderless men who under cover of nightly political protest target liquor stores, beauty-supply shops and other businesses with inventories easy to sell and in high demand.
Ferguson police officials would not quantify how many looters have been arrested since the Brown shooting but presented a Washington Post reporter with a stack of roughly 50 arrest reports. While some of those arrested for stealing are from Ferguson, a large number have addresses listed in Illinois or in Texas.
THis is basically you:

Question for the sane:
Would this work?
If the cops pulled a TSA, set up a protest area stage media etc but heavily controlled and checked all access / exits to said protest would it work out better? In my head at-least it would solve a few issues. You could separate the looters from the protesters via holding it in a park. You'd give media and protesters a safe and not tear gas / arrest filled area to vent. You could have regular cops on duty no heavy stuff get the police leadership out there answering questions truthfully etc.
or is this just a dream that would never work?
Has anyone been killed since Brown was? How about, say, a Reginald Denny-level injury? Bueller?
Curfew didn't work, so why would that?
The fact they wouldnt quantify anything yet, I'm sure a good chunk of those arrests were bullshit ones for "breaking curfew" or the media arrests.
They did try this, and people protest that they don't want to protest there (moving to the sidewalk instead of the middle of the street). Or media starts shouting first amendment and tries to walk wherever they want with their cameras. It's a good idea on paper, but no one wants to cooperate or facilitate on any side, and those two parties are already fed up with police so they are just less inclined to follow those directions.
