Federal agents are trained to keep it to two-three round bursts center mass. I don't know how local cops do it though so I wouldn't be surprised if it's "empty the whole clip" type shit.

i feel like when these poor shmucks are shot like 40 times by multiple officers the reason given is that they are taught to empty the clip. WHO KNOWS THO. i know when i was on the hill once they tried to flag a guy down who was driving crazy and he came up out the car with a gun and a bunch of officers emptied everything into him.
Won't be the last time we hear an office4 unload and entire clip into a suspect.
I'm no cop or have any training. But does adrenaline play a role to cause an officer to unload the entire clip?
He said it best.
It's not like police busted a smuggling ring of molotovs. Out of all the legitimate trouble makers there right now it's not hard to believe some of them might have a glass molotovs that they bought with them from out of town. What's terrible is people are actually questioning this like it's all a cover up when we have pictures of people with these weapons.
Yes, the innocents are paying for this by and large, but that's why it's important they stay as far away from these ruffians as possible. Not that the police are making it easy for them...
Empty the clip just sounds like the excuse for when several dozen bullets are found in a body.
Did a quick search on when Diallo got shot since that's seemed relevant to the empty the clip discussion and found this.

It seems there is no actual standard number although there are recommendations that can be ignored based on personal assessments of threat level and the focus of training seems to be less on avoiding civilian casualties than cop casualties. This probably doesn't end well due to the ingrained cultural default of minorities as criminals. What does it take to stop a threat? Can a suspect be stopped without being killed? As the number of bullets fired at Mr. Diallo -- 41 -- is repeated across the city in incredulous conversations, police experts cannot even agree on whether it is realistic to expect officers to pause after a few rounds rather than empty their 16-bullet clips.
Well, if the situation has degraded to the point that you need to fire bullets, chances are youre shooting to kill. Unless we're trying to say we're firing live ammunition to maim a dangerous suspect. This probably falls under "officers judgement" which I don't disagree with.
The whole bullet thing just makes cops sound like low tier at shooting
isis just executed james foley, i feel like the media is going to go extra hard on the ground tonight
You would hope. Unfortunately, they're already planning the media suppression:

New 'protest zone' and 'media staging' areas at opposite ends of W. Florissant Ave. #ferguson Street closed to traffic again.

Posted this a few pages back; relevant to your question.
Could it be possible for a Cop to punch a fellow Cop to make it look like they were attacked by a "bad guy"?
Dart_Adams @Dart_Adams
No one is going to work. The kids aren't going to school. Yeah. This all makes sense to send MORE troops with MORE weapons into Ferguson, MO
Shaun King @ShaunKing
Lots of hourly low wage workers missing out on pay last week and this week in #Ferguson. Frustration growing.
@YourAnonNews was just suspended
Heard someone on the street saying the mentally handicap guy had a pocket knife or a butterknife. He fell down after taking 2 shots and they kept firing.
CNN just put out a number saying out of the 77 arrested, 20 were from out of state.
Talk about tinfoil hats...
Aside from the amount of people who would have to be in on it, including the medical personnel that checked on his injuries after the shooting, it makes no sense to break bones in your face when you can just bruise yourself up a bit instead.
What's easier to believe, a cop orchestrating an elaborate attempt at faking injuries, or said cop took a hard ass hit to the face from Brown? If it makes life easier for you, you can believe what you want once we know for certain if there was a struggle in the car or not.
Medical personnel would not be able to tell the difference between a punch to the face and a punch to the face.
Christ.
