Guns that were confiscated during last night's arrests

First-hand account from one of the reporters that was in the neighborhood getting gassed last night;

"Police drove into group of protesters, firing tear gas I think.
About 40 protesters gone. Shouted "F*** you" as they ran off. Wind shifted. Yep, tear gas.
Police just shot at least three tear gas canisters at me. One hit my leg, one my backpack.
They're saying "Go home" I literally have nowhere to go. I'm hiding.
We held up media credentials. They drove into parking lot of private apartment complex and shot tear gas in circle, 10ft from us.
They circled us, shot tear gas. We're in bushes. Street we needed to get to car was blocked off by officers in armed vehicles.
Our photographer @zianizami was hit by canister on arm.
Didn't see any protesters as made way to car at W Florissant/Chambers. Crawled through thick brush, followed creek on right, fence on left.
We were in the dark. Didn't want to draw attention, get gassed, so kept phone off.
Police first drove down W Florissant w/tear gas. Then they did same to side street, Lang Drive, before hitting us at QT/Northwinds
Police asked protesters-not media-to leave. Still we aimed to go down W Florissant to media area but couldnt pass police barricade

The date on which the US police became my enemy

Front page of today's newspaper in Berlin. One of their journalists was also arrested last night while they were gassing the neighborhood after media was supposed to be out of the area.

Edit: or is it "The Enemy'? I grabbed a quick translation for that and I am not sure which is correct.

Headline translates to "The day the US-police became my enemy", so it's pretty much the same. Media here in Germany are rather sloppy, at least the situation doesn't make any local headlines. Need to wait until the weekly magazines are printed to get any detailed accounts.

So their justification for dispersing and arresting media is that there were "agitators" hiding with the media and throwing piss and water bottles full of ice at them.

They need to put up the names and pictures of these agitators, both so the actual protestors know who to look out for and remove from their numbers, and also to prove that there are 47 agitators and that they aren't arresting media like it seems like they are doing.

From what I gather, they were dispersing them to try and find such shitheads- I mean agitators. I dono. I think it was relatively unorganized but I agree with trying to find said shitheads. Not that I'm forgiving the shittiness of the Police but to forgive them a bit, it's an extremely difficult situation and requires changes on the fly and a case of telephone where information isn't fully given or gets misunderstood.

They can't put up pictures or name names because they aren't actually charging anyone with a crime. They say "failure to disperse", "resisting arrest", etc. but aren't charging people. One of the guys has been arrested 3 times and they claim he is there from Austin, TX just there to cause trouble.

I agree. That is the incident that, coincidentally for the 4th night in a row, happened exactly at midnight and was used as justification for use of force against hundreds of people. I honestly would not be surprised to find out these water bottles were not actually thrown at police just like the kid in Illinois never reached for an officer's gun when he was handcuffed and cooperating.

They're just taking shots at us because our Gov says the same thing about them. Everyone is just wagging their dicks at each other.

So I wonder what's going to happen now that you're basically going to have weeks of waiting for a decision on charging the police officer. Also, let's face it, if the police enforcement stabilizes at a level that isn't completely absurd, only mildly absurd, the media frenzy will die down and there will probably be no consequences for the police actions we've seen so far, both towards peaceful protesters and the media.
