Ferguson: Police Draw Guns on Rosa Clemente, Talib & Others
An hour ago, Jessica Care Moore, Talib Kweli, folks from the Fellowship of Reconcillation, Philip Agnew of Dream Defenders, Bgyrl ForLife, Malik Rhasaan from Occupy the Hood and Trymaine Lee from MSNBC and many others were chased like animals by the cops.
We ran to get away and were surrounded on a small path on bridge, surrounded by all types of police and told to lie down and put our hands up. We complied and we were told if we did not stop moving we would be shot. We were breathing. The young brother lying on my feet as I was holding him was not able to control his breathing he said “I’m choking” the cop told him to stop or he would shoot him.
I told him “try not to move, just lay still I got you.” The gun was at his chest. I looked at the cop and said “please, he is not doing anything”
I tried to record but the cop had his finger on the trigger. I could feel Talib’s hand on my back and Jessica behind me.
Ferguson ProtestsWe laid there until one Black officer said “Let them go, we got who we wanted.” In all my life I have never been so terrified. The young brother Devin said thank you I think you saved my life. What is going down here in#ferguson in all my years of activism, organizing, I have never seen.
This is a war zone, a military occupation and our children are the cannon fodder. P.S. The white boy who threw the water bottle a big fuck you, I am sure you were an agent provocateur. But for the police to act this way, they are itching to kill more of us. P.S. Women are also brutalized and terrorized by the police, at the end all of us are Black and Brown and animals to them.
I'm going to proliferate the idea he doesn't exist. Or wait, if I don't proliferate it he won't exist?
I'm wrong for not being racist, understanding that it exists and is a problem and having a problem with what's going on in Ferguson. Got it. So what exactly is right then?
Seriously, you are the dumbest fucking people I've ever spoken to. You're arguing with me for agreeing with you and for one post trying to look at just the facts.
Bye indeed. No i'm not going to continue. But you do make it clear why people are racist. Even when someone isn't you treat them like shit. It's no wonder it's still a problem.
What exactly is the sleeping in the church line supposed to mean? People aren't allowed in their own homes because of blockades. Why isn't a church(or anyone else) allowed to give at least some comfort to people in need of rest? it's not like it was some permanent residential problem. We they supposed to sleep in the bushes where they had to hide from cops waving guns around? That's seriously the best reason the cops could come up with?
Are kids having sleepovers or slumberparties illegal now?
Cuba is an ally?
Trying to hit them up for squatting. Keep in mind this is the 3rd time police tried to get this church shut down. The same one they blockaded and showed up with guns drawn.
ShordeeDooWhop @Nettaaaaaaaa
The police came up to the church last night saying we were "planning" something and causing a disturbance

Ferguson Shooting Victim Says Police Have Not Interviewed Her
Yes, she's black
Here's what Mya Aaten-White remembers from the night of August 12: It was about 11 p.m. She was walking back to her car on Highmont Drive near the burned-out QuikTrip after attending a Mike Brown rally in Ferguson. There were a few people in front of her. Suddenly, shots rang out. Everyone dropped to the ground and covered their heads. When she sat up, Aaten-White knew something was wrong.
"Oh my God, you're shot in the head," she recalls a young man telling her.
Several young men carried her into a nearby house where the residents called 911. She says police officers -- she believes they were St. Louis County police -- interviewed her briefly before she was taken to the hospital. She was able to take the above photo in the ambulance and upload it to Instagram. It went viral.
Now, a little over a week later, Aaten-White wants to know why no one in law enforcement has followed up with her about her case. Stranger still, she says, she doesn't know what happened to the bullet that doctors removed from her skull.
"Someone has the bullet. Someone has the bullet, and it was an officer," says her attorney, Marwan Porter. She says when she woke up from the surgery on Wednesday evening, August 13, the doctors and nurses told her police officers came and confiscated the bullet as evidence. As she recovered, she says, she waited for those officers to return and do a full interview about the incident.tl;dr woman is shot in the head the early nights of the protests. Police declare a search for 4-5 young black men who ended up being the guys who helped her after she was shot. And then they take the bullet 'as evidence' and then file no reports."We want to find out who and what agency took possession of the bullet," he said. "We want to identify who was responsible for firing the weapon that ended up with a bullet being lodged in the front of Mya's head."
When we spoke with him several hours later, the story just got weirder.
"I've talked to both the St. Louis County Police Department and Ferguson...they have no record...no file number, no report," he said. "They don't have anything."
What's that, cops underreporting serious crime in a black neighborhood? Nah there's never been a conspiracy like that before.
