Holy shit, I completely forgot about that story when I saw it on tumblr. I was meaning to follow-up with it to see if it were true or not. I remember seeing screenshots of her claiming that police thought she was going to die and they were planning on reporting it as a drive-by gang shooting.

This is textbook shady police work that most people would dismiss as conspiracy.

Some one earlier said they were given a deadline of mid October. Don't see how people are gonna pay rent if they keep this up till then though.

Oh i'm sure. Sadly in situations like this, you never hear about those doing their jobs properly. You only hear about the shit heads who are making a screwed up situation even worse by making comments about shooting protesters or pointing rifles at them randomly.

I have been having a difficult time catching up to the end of this thread. I am much more interested in updates of whats actually happening there rather than the debate in this thread about whether or not police have been abusing their power and applying too much force. In my mind there is no situation in which an unarmed man should get shot 6 times, even if he is "bum rushing" you. You are a fucking police officer, you should be trained to subdue unarmed people without the use of lethal force, especially when you're carrying around so many non lethal alternatives.

As far as police tactics since mike browns death I dont think thats debatable either. Why have riot tactics gone from shields and batons to tear gas (expired at that) and rubber bullets. It seems to me if you wanted to restore order peacefully you wouldnt be shooting rubber bullets and tear gas into crowds, it seems like they're intentionally trying to incite more violence with their actions.

Also wanted to say thank you to 6souls for puttting that album together, ill be sharing that with some friends that dont quite grasp the extent of whats been happening in MO. One ofnthe most frustrating things I have heard said is "yea I dont really care about racism, it doesnt really affect me, and my best friend is black" ~white high school student living in suburbia

Since you don't know if they are truly unarmed (they can have something tucked away in their pants like a knife) you avoid any sort of close quarters hand to hand combat. I am curious as to if the officer did have a taser on him he could have used instead. (this may have been answered already, I'm just not reading through 47 pages to find out)
