Why would an officer ever consider dragging a suspect into the car without them in cuffs?

Man, I didn't want to watch this shit, but here you go, the mentally handicap man getting filled with holes....then handcuffed while dead.
Did the guy actually have a gun?
It was a knife.
Who was that yelling "shoot me"? Suicide by cop? I thought the reports said he wasn't moving towards the officers.
Yeah, he was definitely going for suicide by cop. I'm guessing there's a shortage in tazers and pepper spray in St Louis.
Darren Wilson supporter just showed up for some fun.

From what I saw in that video I am conflicted. The guy DID advance on officers who had guns drawn on him and refused to follow directions. Could they have used non-lethal force? Probably, but I don't know if I, in the heat of the moment, wouldn't have also blasted him. But I am also not a trained law enforcement officer.
Definitely shortage of Tasers. But yeah, it does seem like a typical suicide by cop. Albeit, we don't know the extent of his mental illness.
Yeah I would've shot him too. Guy had repeated warnings to back up, and still came toward the officer with a knife. He got what he wanted.
Is suicide by cop a real thing?
Let me put my gun away and then pull out this tazer, oh...your still coming at me and no..yup ya stabbed me let me get my gun back out.."
@15ft knife is just as dangerous as a gun. Shit still sucks though.
they cant shoot the knife out of his hands? or were they trying
I think I could do it in like 7-8 shots
