Yes. Fairly often to see someone feel they would rather die then go to jail. The four opd officers killed five years ago was pretty textbook suicide by cop where his goal was to take as many cops down with him.

The most "holy shit" suicide by cop I ever saw was around a year ago with that vid of the guy that got pulled over for failing to yield or something and he just jumps out with an AK-47 and started spraying. Shit was crazy.

What I found odd is how he looked back, noticed there were people behind him, and moved to the side so no one else would get shot.

White dude in St. Louis named Kevin Miner was wanted for burglary.

He eluded police officers until they conducted a search of a resident’s home and found him.

He attacked both officers, breaking one cop’s hand. The media even alludes to Miner being forced to “fight back” against the police because of how he was being apprehended!

Miraculously, the cops managed not to punch him in the face repeatedly, put him in a chokehold, or shoot him six times including once in the face and once in the head.

He, in fact, barely had a scratch on him.

Imagine that.

I don't really have a problem with this mentally ill dude here having gotten shot.
The only argument that you can even make is that they didn't go for a non-lethal takedown. No shots to the legs/knee, but I don't really feel too terrible about how that went down. Its not like they likely knew he was fucked in the head and even if they did, it doesn't make him any less dangerous. It actually probably makes him more dangerous.
