It's like - cop getting too heated and making a huge mistake is tragic.

But every other cop closing ranks around him, EVEN THOSE WHO AREN'T IN HIS DEPARTMENT (given that it was handed over to the county police right away), shows corruption to the absolute core. It's the downstream effects of this that my whiteness doesn't want to believe could happen, and is very much happening.

It's like, even joking in my head that Michael Brown was a Cardinals fan so no big loss and chuckling that racist-ass not-in-the-midwest needed-the-union-army-to-stop-slavery Missouri showing it's true colors isn't getting the job done anymore.

There are now allegedly 20 witnesses to the sounds of gunfire when it happened; all confirming the pattern of erratic firing when Mike Brown went to run away and then followed by a rapid-fire of 6 shots to end his life. 2 separate families also reporting that police confiscated bullets that entered their houses from Wilson's gun.

All this support for him, in spite that the only "witness" on Wilson's side is some Josie woman who was never there.... and an incompetent, demonstratively racist police force.

The firing pattern helps show that he was definitely shooting at him while he was fleeing, and supports the "OK OK OK OK surrender" - but also supports the "controlled burst firing because he was charged" narrative that at some point eventually will have to be released as Wilson's official story.

he's going to have to release his narrative of the events at some point, right?

Need 9 out of 12 to get an indictment, and the evidence they are shown is completely up to the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney (who is hyper cop-friendly).

Also, not sure what Eric Holder is actually doing there since he's not actually involved with this grand jury, but his record on overseeing police shootings is horrifying.

In it, you hear some one standing around responding to some one who asked what happen, and he said "He was running away, but then he turned around and ran back at him". I don't know what became of it, I saw it for a few days then no one was talking about it any more.

We don't know who that person is, whether he actually saw what happened - he doesn't have a face, a name, nor is it clear exactly what he is saying. It's a data point - in fact, it's the only data point that we have that suggests this was anything other than an execution. I'm not saying it isn't important, but I am saying it is less important than the other eyewitness statements.

What I've Learned from Two Years Collecting Data on Police Killings

This is the most most heinous thing I've learned in my two years compiling Fatal Encounters. You know who dies in the most population-dense areas? Black men. You know who dies in the least population dense areas? Mentally ill men. It's not to say there aren't dangerous and desperate criminals killed across the line. But African-Americans and the mentally ill people make up a huge percentage of people killed by police.

And if you want to get down to nut-cuttin' time, across the board, it's poor people who are killed by police. (And by the way, around 96 percent of people killed by police are men.)

And everything we've seen so far, is pre-trial. The Rodney King riots happened after the jury let the officers off.
And King wasn't even killed.
I am fairly concerned about what's going to happen at the end of all this.

This time though, we've got rage and a dead kid. Whereas King was speeding because of a DUI while on parole.

The situations aren't the same, but on balance seem to be a similar powder keg.

If the Ferguson PD hadn't flexed their muscles so hard, you could easily make that claim that we probably won't see large-scale chaos erupt if he is gets off free. But, no, more people are waking up from the celeb/vanity stupor(gradually) and there is so much more organizing and sharing of data that it has become difficult for cover-ups, downplaying/ignoring by the black misleadership, or censorship by the mainstream media.

If only these old white guys had been able to get all their internet censorship bills through...

I will rarely rage at these "bad cop" videos because more often than not, they don't show what led up to the conflict. All we seem to get is a small clip meant to incite those watching it.
