The FBI has questioned a man who says he recorded audio of gunfire at the time Brown was shot by Ferguson police on August 9, the man's attorney told CNN.

In the recording, a quick series of shots can be heard, followed by a pause and then another quick succession of shots.

Forensic audio expert Paul Ginsberg analyzed the recording and said he detected at least 10 gunshots -- a cluster of six, followed by four.

"I was very concerned about that pause ... because it's not just the number of gunshots, it's how they're fired," the man's attorney, Lopa Blumenthal, told CNN's Don Lemon. "And that has a huge relevance on how this case might finally end up."

So you say. It's all hearsay conspiracy theory BS dude.

It's almost like regular people don't lie at all, but the cops do it all the time. Cops have a lot to lose when it comes to stuff like that. Desk duty sucks. You can never work the street again or be part of an arrest ever again if you're caught in a lie. All of your old cases get re-examined when you fill out a Giglio Disclosure when you go for your annual review and Defense Attorneys LOVE to grab those. Police service records are available through the Giglio review. You'll never walk away from that type of accusation. Never hold another position with a police department ever again. That's the price they pay. It's misconduct unbecoming of a government official, which gets you terminated 9/10 times. Those who are lucky enough to get desk duty are the ones who are close to retirement or have service records that are outstanding (though, one could argue that your outstanding service record is a lie). Just because criminal charges don't get brought, punishment does happen.

I was wondering if the quoted applies to any lie, because I feel like it doesn't. When people talk about how the cops lie a lot, I don't think we're only talking about things like fabricating evidence or other larger schemes like Correction was mentioning - though that does seem to happen.

It seems extremely, extremely common - even in my own limited first hand experience with LEO - for police to lie about things like what will happen to the person being accosted if they do/don't say or do something, what the cops already "know", or other details that are designed to get the accosted to admit guilt or otherwise cooperate.

For example, "Your friend already spilled the beans, you might as well come clean" or "If you tell us the whole truth now then we can make this a lot easier on you" etc. Also BSing about on vs. off the record, how long and in what fashion the police are allowed to detain someone, and so on.

These are all extremely common from what I can tell, and almost to the point where police don't even seem to consider them lies, but tactics.

This is what St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar, who's leading the investigation into Brown's death, said happened according to Wilson: Brown physically assaulted Wilson prior to the shooting. Wilson attempted to get out of the car, but Brown pushed him back into the vehicle. Brown then physically assaulted Wilson and attempted to grab the officer's weapon. At that point, the first shot was fired from the police car. Brown ran away, but eventually turned around and moved toward Wilson — causing the officer to fear for his life. Wilson fired and killed Brown, 35 feet from the police car. Wilson was reportedly injured during the encounter, and one side of his face was left swollen.
