As darkness fell on Canfield Drive on August 9, a makeshift memorial sprang up in the middle of the street where Michael Brown's body had been sprawled in plain view for more than four hours. Flowers and candles were scattered over the bloodstains on the pavement. Someone had affixed a stuffed animal to a streetlight pole a few yards away. Neighborhood residents and others were gathering, many of them upset and angry.

Soon, police vehicles reappeared, including from the St. Louis County Police Department, which had taken control of the investigation. Several officers emerged with dogs. What happened next, according to several sources, was emblematic of what has inflamed the city of Ferguson, Missouri, ever since the unarmed 18-year-old was gunned down: An officer on the street let the dog he was controlling urinate on the memorial site.

The day brought other indignities for Brown's family, and the community. Missouri state Rep. Sharon Pace, whose district includes the neighborhood where the shooting occurred, told me she went to the scene that afternoon to comfort the parents, who were blocked by police from approaching their son's body. Pace purchased some tea lights for the family, and around 7 p.m. she joined Brown's mother, Lesley McSpadden, and others as they placed the candles and sprinkled flowers on the ground where Brown had died. "They spelled out his initials with rose petals over the bloodstains," Pace recalled.

By then, police had prohibited all vehicles from entering Canfield Drive except for their own. Soon the candles and flowers had been smashed, after police drove over them.

"That made people in the crowd mad," Pace said, "and it made me mad." Some residents began walking in front of police vehicles at the end of the block to prevent them from driving in.

THE NO SPIN ZONE. OK, lol. That interview was literally 100% O'Reilly Spinning, 0% discussion on White Privilege. Being an Independent, I have absolutely no problem with watching news on both sides of the isle, but O'Reilly is a complete idiot, and you can easily spot who's ignorant to politics and socioeconomics by seeing who posts/agrees with anything that man says. I mean, he argues on this subject with no Democrats, no Black liberals, no bi-partisan people, and he is trying to discuss White Privilege. He talks about broken Black homes and Asian success more than the simple fact that White people get a ground footing over Black people in many avenues, which is a certain (and proven) fact.

White Privilege is a mindset, not a way of life. White people can get on a metro train and not get hassled by police or looked at by others (of course unless they look suspicious). Black people do the same thing but get the looks, they get the old women clutching their bags tighter, they get hassled by the police. That's White Privilege. White people get shorter sentences after conviction, they get better paying jobs with more raises & promotions. That's White Privilege. My mans then goes on a diatribe putting down the Hip-Hop culture (as he always does) instead of actually discussing the subject matter.

But you know what? That dude is making big bank at what he does. Makes me all the more sad for America at how stupid people are to the truth. Dwight Eisenhower is probably rolling over in his grave at how far the GOP and their supporting pundits have fallen since his reign.

Clothes don't matter. You could be wearing your pants up and a neatly pressed polo and still get the same reactions. If you've ever been to any part of Los Angeles or New York city you'd know this. Besides, "black thug clothing" is on the way out for the most part. Again, if you were ever in LA or NY you'd know this.

This is going to be a crucial ruling towards the intelligence community. No more raids for anything less than high-level distribution. On the horizon, it'll put a dent in the amount of reports of small time distribution and work more towards that push for federal legalization of at least marijuana.
