Please spare us. The sane cops out there aren't going to deny the amount of incompetent, racist, corrupt, and war-damaged badges out there(hint: more than a few bad apples). The sane cops will tell you how important that trust is; and we've seen AZ and NY completely shit on any real police work that could possibly need to be done when millions of people look at cops as some bizarre mafia org and do not cooperate with them, causing local crime to rise, etc.

Did I say city? No. I said neighborhood. Holy shit bro. There's quite a difference between a neighborhood and a fucking city.

if you want to get knit picky about words that is a neighborhood within San Antonio City, but it matters little. i just would like to know of a place in america without a SINGLE white or black person in it and you've stated you know one.

Okay, fine. The neighborhood where I grew up, in North East, PA.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_East,_Pennsylvania
As of the census[6] of 2000, there were 4,601 people, 1,730 households, and 1,162 families residing in the borough. The population density was 3,515.4 people per square mile (1,356.1/km²). There were 1,795 housing units at an average density of 1,371.5 per square mile (529.0/km²). The racial makeup of the borough was 97.65% White, 0.80% African American, 0.09% Native American, 0.09% Asian, 0.59% from other races, and 0.78% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.87% of the population.
That amounts to a total of 36 black people in the entire town, and I promise, absolutely none of them were in the neighborhood I grew up in, though I have no way of actually proving that, short of flying up there and knocking on every door.

So yes, I have experienced neighborhoods without any of a certain race. They do exist, and segregation is still alive and well in parts of the country.

Demographic data for apartment complexes (which is what I experienced in the reverse) are much harder to come by, and with all due respect, I need to stop arguing in this thread and get back to work lol.

May I volunteer my home town? I'll do you one better: the entire county.

1990 census: 2 black people out of 23,265 total
    2000 census: 40 out of 25,267
    2010 census: 68 out of 24,643

Keep in mind this is the entire county, not just a city. There are definitely towns with no black/whatever minority if you want to find them.

I remember looking to cast some black teens for a short film i was making In Miami, so I went to a north Miami high school in a black part of town.

Parked my car, black security guard, couple black teens walking past. Went inside, couple black secretaries behind the desk.

Then the bell rang. Hundreds of kids in the halls, and I realized I wasn't only the only white person there, I was the only not-black person in the building.

i get that. i don't think it's bad. it's just i think people are annoyed by it because it's such a small, meaningless gesture compared to the major, major problems they have as a department, and that it's such a feeble attempt to return to normalcy. like that one awful red mage who repeatedly wipes your dynamis run and then carries on making really stupid jokes and swinging his fucking joyeuse like he didn't just fuck everything up for everyone.

So, has it occurred to anybody that it is near the start of the school year, which is often used as a time of year for programs involving children? Some people just read too much into everything.

So, what do you want? How does one fix this "problem"? Sorry that things are so bad you fear everything. The thing that drives my paranoia is the same as your own, except mine is of all people and not just one type of person. I can't take that away from you. Is that what you want?

So we just ignore all the small things that are done every year because of drama going on elsewhere in the department/town?

No, life moves on. We don't just stop every little beneficial thing these people get just because they haven't finished prosecuting the cop who is most likely going to jail for awhile. This is exactly the type of thing they should be doing, there is no room for saying otherwise.

Apparently we're supposed to stop allll the work because another high profile case is still being worked on. Y'all need to get your blind hate outta here and take a chill pill.

I guess at this point the question is, how many eyewitnesses to a cop shooting a man who was surrendering do there have to be to arrest him?

    6 clearly doesn't cut it.

They have started the prosecution. Grand Jury is looking at evidence now.

Grand jury decides if he will be prosecuted, because apparently 6 eyewitnesses aren't enough for the police to bring charges.

Last time i told you why, with said quotes from those immediate eyewitnesses, you merely replied "lol"

So go find that post and youll see why it takes more than those 6 "expert eyewitnesses". And dont give me the 6 people who decided to come forth a week later.

Remove the badge from the cop and make him an average person, and he would be in jail already.

It's been discussed many times both here and even in the media as to why this is.

Interesting article, but they clearly claim he was moving toward the cop before the cop started firing again. Of course the cop should yell the usual "get on the ground" before shooting, but I don't know if that's necessary if they decide the suspect is moving too fast toward them or what. Personally I think the cop should be charged, but I think it's a pretty easy case for the defense.

I also think it's likely that Brown put his hand up, just not sure what a cop is trained to do if a suspect puts their hands up but continues to move towards them. My instincts say they shoot... The cops testimony will be interesting to hear, hopefully it's released eventually.
