PSN webstore is back up for the time being, not that any of the current flash sales are any good in North America. Still can't do shit on a PS4.

Have you seen the state of video games the last few years?

I've not played a game in years that straight up crashes multiple times in the first 15 minutes of gameplay. Bugs and glitches, sure, but not crashing. Rare circumstances I guess since PS4 GTA5 did ship with a 1gb day1 update which I can't access currently.

Oh did they fix that? I remember like 3 years back, we lost internet at our house, and my brother had no way of playing any of his game because of the old steam not letting you convert to offline without being online.

I never needed to 'convert' anything. Typically if the game has been ran once before while Steam's connected, it'll work fine in offline mode for me. Assuming the game in question isn't heavily reliant on Steamworks functionality or online focused.

Alot of AAA titles launched nowadays are completely unplayable without a Day 1 patch, and some are still broken as fuck even after (Battlefield 4). I believe it was DA:I that had major issues on the PS4 that led to the entire system freezing that required both a day 1 patch for the game AND a firmware update.

Hell we live in an age where consoles require a day 1 patch to operate.

Sounds like I'd benefit by keeping my cheapass-gamer attitude by waiting for GOTY/marked-down releases of titles, just so the game's been patched as much as the publishers can commit to funding them.

Can't even watch the blurays I picked up today on the PS4 without connecting my account. Licensing bullshit I guess that requires user opt-ins.

Don't log out / put PS4 in rest mode. I got on fine at ~10AM, but at noon I left to workout and put it in rest mode. Now I'm in the same situation as last night.

All the responses by Sony feel like bullshit PR. The AskPlaystation Twitter account has been feeding off the same 3-4 copy/paste responses to everyone since the attacks started.

I don't understand why MS servers would be up this much faster than PS if they actually cared about getting them back up. I can only assume they have a skeleton crew trying to fix things with most of their tech team dealing with the Sony breach. Either way, this is quite infuriating for this to go on for so long.

Probably partly due to skeleton crew, and possibly due to PS4's much larger install base exasperating the issue? Who knows, they'll never admit anything publically anyways.

PSN and Live cover more then the current Gen consoles, and install base of PS4 vs One wouldn't be that huge of issue here if it actually mattered.
