We just caught up on this today in preparation for the third episode tonight.

Kinda surprised Madison's mom didn't see the cat.

Keeps getting more and more mysterious. I hope they answer some questions soon.

My wife is still on the fence with this. I get the feeling that there's a lot of potential here but if it stretches out much longer they're going to lose the audience.

I honestly expected Marcus to take the truck after the rest stop bit. I mean, Morgan's not that short, he could still drive. I guess the problem is more being able to maintain control long enough to make the drive work. We were assuming that Marcus' ability to control Morgan was driven off her fatigue or emotional state. Killing the cat freaked her out long enough to make her run and hide for a while. Shepherd brandishing the gun I think was supposed to invoke the same effect, and I get the impression that Shepherd was second-guessing if he had the right girl after all when Marcus feigned ignorance.

This episode was, IMHO, pretty good.

Except for that fucking explanation of infrasonics. Hurricanes, Bill? Really?

Still not quite sure I understand how the process works, the significance/creation of the totems for example, but we're definitely enjoying it.

The little girl playing Marcus is killing it though.

I was rewatching a bunch of it last night trying to figure out if they named the Chinese woman in Episode 2, because I thought that was Rose at first.

There's a whole lot of numerology going on. Nines everywhere. Not just the book/card, but lots of other places as well.

So, just read that this is a BBC two production, and though it has apparently been a smashing success in the US, the show will live or die based on its UK ratings starting tonight (it's premiering tonight in the UK).

The ending was not what I expected. I'm puzzled by the motives, but I'm going along with it.

Well, no season 2, but I think the ending to season 1 was enough closure for me. The missus read the book and said it was pretty good, a fair bit different but worthwhile.
