Just got my MH 3ds yesterday and I am really loving the improvements to the 3D. I couldn't even use the 3D on the old system, this one doesn't bother me at all.

Using the gyro to fire the bow in Majora is so satisfying. I'm glad I can just move the system and not fuck my eyes up with the 3D, too. I haven't turned it off of max effect since I got it, it looks great.

Was going to post this as well. To test it out I shook my head back and forth while looking at the screen and it was fine. If I moved a centimeter with the OG 3DS it would go crazy. Even playing MH4U I didn't have any problems leaving the 3D on, and there's a lot of movement in the game.

Yeah, I used to not use the 3D at all after the first two minutes with a game. Now there's not a whole lot of reason to turn it off, barring a little bit of slowdown when there's a ton on screen at once.

I have a Link Between Worlds edition of the 3DSXL. Is there any way to part with the system, then buy a new one, and then transfer my downloaded games and information with out having both systems physically in my possession?

Nope. Transferring licenses requires the systems to communicate with each other through a wifi internet connection, and it isn't a fast process.

At least not to my knowledge.

If your wanting to trade in your old 3DS for credit. At least w/my local gamestop I called them and asked if I could do an open box return > trade in > immediate sell the system back to me w/the credit applied... And they told me that's 100% fine. My GameStop also is holding the $100 trade on offer open for me until tomorrow when I get the new system, but I notified them about my situation before the deal ended. However w/o the deal it's only $70 for a 3DS XL, but I'm sure if you call ahead at least your gamestop would allow you to do the open box swap.

Depends on your gamestop and skin color. Not happening on the south side of Chicago.

Does anyone have a receipt that shows where they still got the 100 trade in? I went in Saturday after being told by one gamestop on the phone that it was extended till Sunday (I called like 20 locations that day so idk which it was) Then the one I went to told me that they heard nothing about it, he called 2 more gamestops and I didn't get full trade in.

afaiK the $100 trade in credit ended on Saturday. I just happen to have a really nice manager who basically said they can do their thing in the system and still get me the $100 trade in credit since I notified them that my bundle wouldn't be getting to me until after the deal ended. But I was very surprised and really wouldn't expect that.. and still don't believe it until it actually happens lol

I go down to my gamestop and then the guy tells me "nope that ended on Friday" Calls 2 other gamestops to confirm and says he can only give me regular trade in... then I can't apply it towards my purchase I already made either. So he says to just cancel the order when I get home and I had to order a new one there (w/ less trade in credit).

Get home and I'm unable to cancel the original one. I call and was like "I know this hasn't shipped yet. I just ordered this 2hrs ago on a Saturday" He said it hasn't shipped but it was processed/getting ready to ship and that I'd have to take it to gamestop to return it once it arrives...

These fuckers better not try me w/ store credit or something because I'll be livid

it did in fact end on sunday, was extended till sunday. however, it could only be done in store and you had to purchase in store, or via web in store in order for it to work. the only other option is if you had secured it online and it was delivered on Friday so that you could get into the store and do the return/tradein to get the 100 credit. stores have no interactions available with gamestop.com orders, its a seperate entity.

My wife decided that she wanted the new 3DS and listed her old one for sale on Amazon and it sold in less than a day. I told her she was a retard because it was an ambassador system and she would lose all her shit by getting rid of it before her new 3DS XL showed up. She called Nintendo and they told her they could transfer her stuff by using the serial # and calling when the new one came in. She backed up the local info on her SD card and shipped it off. I'll find out in a week or so when her new one comes in if everything transfers alright but it sounds like you can transfer without doing local wireless between 2 consoles.
