I got the Hori one as well. Definitely just to protect from scratches. Not gonna do shit on a drop. That said, I can carry the thing in my pocket w/o carrying around the foam sleeve it came in, in box, so I'm happy with that

Define "softer plastic" because the $12 Hori one I preordered and still got two weeks late before it disappeared from Amazon's stock is squishy, flexible, and almost rubber like. I don't really understand how the more expensive one is softer unless it's like a gummy bear or something lol

By the way don't try to be cheap and save 3 dollars on screen protectors. I got illumishield. had high ratings and was a few bucks cheaper than Hori, so I went with it. Came with 3 protectors for the top and bottom. Each time I had at least one large dust particle trapped under the protector no matter how much/thoroughly I cleaned. Convinced myself that the protectors themselves just had dust on them or that I was the most horrible person in the world at applying screen protectors.

Went ahead and got Hori (which I was intending to do to begin with but they were out of stock when I was shopping around the first time). Only came with 1 protector for the top and one for the bottom, so I was kind of worried about applying them and fucking up again. Got it perfectly on the first try for each the top and bottom. That said, I'd just avoid illumishield. Hori is the way to go

Btw I was really sceptical about graphics after hearing different people opinion and what I can tell you is base your own opinion. I personally have been really impressed for the graphics ( for a 3ds) yes dolphin is better but the new 3ds is a really good port

In case anyone was still looking: Best Buy got in a shipment of Majora's Mask N3DS units and collector's editions, apparently just today. I wasn't able to find stock information online, but found one on the shelf after visiting two of their stores in my area (Los Angeles).

Just am fyi it's hit or miss. If you have the sku 2304014 you can call and see if they have any left. Out here you had to ask by sku, they were not on the floor and without the sku they can only check the website that will not have it.

So I figured I would finally just fork over money and buy a 3DS now with MM out and stuff, but people are saying the New 3DS XL doesn't come with a charger? The hell is that about...
Also, I'm assuming that it doesn't come with a memory stick either? How big should one be?

It comes with a 4 gig micro SD card. If you don't plan on buying a lot of download games or virtual console games 4 gig is plenty for extra data and screen shots etc. If you do want to download games it's best to go for a 32 gig micro SD so you won't have to worry about upgrading it later. As for the charger, yeah you'll have to buy one or if you have an old DSi/3DS you can use that one.

I'm just guessing but I think the reason they stopped bundling the charger with new consoles is that there's too much overlap between people "upgrading" versus new buyers. Economically, it makes more sense to save yourself the cost of giving people a new plug if 95% of the people purchasing it already have one.
